I can surely understand why they are skeptical of someone returning, but its sad when you are on the other side of things and trying to do things the right way and only meet rejection.

Just a little back ground first.
Im a US citizan and my wife is a Permanent Resident. She will be applying for her US citizenship in Aug. We have been married for a little over 3 years and we are expecting our first baby in Jan. She was hoping that her sister could come to the US for a period of time after our child's birth the help her out. However, her sister lives with her parent in Vietnam, so does not own a home. They run a store out of their house so even though she has a job running the store, she is not looked upon by our government as being employed. She is not married and does not have any kids. This all adds up to the US government thinking that there is nothing in Vietnam that would make her want to go back home. They can't believe someone would come to the US just visit. I understand that many people don't but it seems rather unfair for those that wish to come visit and then return home afterwards. Does anyone a have any advise on how to get a B-2 visa for someone in my sister in-laws situation?
Thank
Sam
Edit- Will hiring a immigration law be of any value in this situation?

You would think it would be very clear as to which one is correct and I have to say I still have no idea. I'll can an talk to the the air lines again and see if I can get then to clear this up.
Thank you all for your replies.
Cheers

I believe you both are correct and it should be the same as the passport.
Thank you both for your replies. ;-)

I spoke to the AmericanAirlines and the lady I spoke to seemed confuse to which one I needed to do. After being on hold for a long time she came back she still was not sure but thought it would be best to have it the same as what was on the passport but I think it was more a guess them really knowing. I called my Travel agent. She said she had done hundreds of these and it would cause a problem if the name was the same as what was on the passport instead of what is on the Greencard. Im still confused as to what is correct but guess we are going to leave it so its the same as what she has on the green card.

My wife and I are going to be traveling to Veitnam and I had a question about the names on passport, green card and ticket.
Her passport has her maiden name and her GC has her married name. We went through a traval agent and when she booked the trip they did it using her married name not what is on her passport. Is this a problem? Should they have used the name on her passport or it the name on her GC acceptable?
Thank
Sam

We have just received our i-797c NOA and are starting to put together all the items we need to bring, but I was a little confused as to what some of the item may be. My wife is a F1 student and her eligiblity is bases on our marriage.
It ask for "All documents establishing your eligibility for lawful permanent resident". I dont know what this is refering to.
Things I know we need to bring:
Driver license and Passport for us both
(Form 1-693 and 1-864 all ready submitted)
i-94, i-20, and student visa
Birth certificate for us both
Marriage license
We have no kids so nothing for that part
Supporting evidence of your relationship (This one is tough since she does not have a SS# and cant be added to very many things yet).
Copies of everything we submit
Any help would be greatly appreciated

My wife is here in the US on a F1 student visa. We are in the process if filing to get her status changed but I’m a little confused about question 16 on form 1-765. I was reading that it was free to file this if sent in concurrently with your i-130/i-485. From reading through the instructions I felt like I needed to put c 9, but c 9 is not listed on the instructions as filing for free unless its for “Renewal EAD”. I think we would fall under “Initial EAD”, so I’m lost as to which option to choose.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

We are working on filling for nonimmigrant status for my wife. She is here in the US on a F1 visa. We were married last January and she took my last name but the only doc we have that has her name listed that way is the marriage license. So when we file forms (I-130, 1-485, ect….) do we file all the doc’s with her maiden name or her new name.

What someone in the US government taking advantage of a situation to make a lot of money. I'm shocked to hear there is such corruption in the US government. << Sarcasm ;-0
