  1. Happy to report that I have my visa and package in hand. After receiving an email with my waybill number last night, I received an email this morning letting me know that my package had arrived at the local DHL office and was 'undeliverable'. A few minutes later I received a phone call from DHL letting me know I could come pick it up - which I did!

  3. Thanks everyone! :)

I'm choosing to try and stay distracted and not worry about DHL as long as possible... but we'll see how well that goes considering I'm now living on a couch at the home of two friends on opposite schedules so there's always someone awake here, haha!

Congratulations! I'm crossing fingers hoping that we get our DHL packages soon!

  4. We got approved thank God. :) I am so happy I could jump up and down all day but I am at work so I think my boss would not appreciate that. :D

I hope we get that passport soon so I can go get my baby!

    Good luck to all!

    Congratulations!

  5. DHL has my visa and it has been sitting at their offices for three days now. No notice, no phone call, no change on my profile on CSC. Guys, head over to DHL yourselves! Check on it!

Wow! That's pretty incredible - thanks for the heads up!

    Congratulations and good luck!

  6. Congratulations on your interview! Glad to hear it went smoothly. I have to ask, were people getting denied in front of you?

All the conversations with the consular officers take place in private cubicles but we had conversations, with someone in line who was later interviewed before us, who was told she needed additional documentation (custody documents) before she and her sons coud be approved. She shared the information with us before she left. 8-(

  7. We just had our interview and overall it was a great experience. We had the first ticket but were not processed in order - it turns out they hadn't processed my file yet. Still the process was uneventful and even a little exciting. No blonde woman but a wonderful woman with dreadlocks who asked us questions about how we met, who was at our wedding, and how my husband proposed. Overall it was a really positive experience for us, but sadly not for everyone there. Good luck to everyone else!

  8. I was referring to the interview letter - - it's necessary to have that for the medical and, of course, entry to the consulate for the interview. Mine has just arrived by email so we're very relieved and happy. Good luck everyone with your own interviews!

  9. Thanks - we're very excited! It's been such a long wait. All we need now is the letter and to arrive in Montreal and then we're ready for both the medical and interview. I just hope it comes in time, it'll be weird if it doesn't. Still we're pretty sure it will be okay (crossing fingers).

I've just received it - Yay!

Good luck to everyone here - I wish you well with your own interviews. I'll post a review after the interview - take care!

  10. My interview is scheduled for August 9th....I only just got the email with date and time today (Wednesday afternoon US time). We called on the 13th and got the date and time from NVC operator....so it has taken about a week for us to get the email.

I asked the same thing a few days ago and have started seeing ppl getting there's, so hopefully you will have it by the end of the week.

Good luck for the medical and interview!!

  11. Congratulations! That's quite a lengthy journey!!

    Thank you!

Hi - I have my medical scheduled for July 25th and my interview in Montreal is scheduled for August 2nd but we haven't received the interview package yet.

Has anyone else had any luck so far?

  13. Grats on getting the case number! It was for Vancouver? blink.gif But Vancouver doesn't process IR-1/CR-1 visas....

Thanks - Yes, I thought it was weird that they gave us a VAC number too, but no complaints from me. At any rate, that's changed. When my husband called last week he got a VAC number. As of Monday, we now have a MTL number. It's all good though - I'm just thrilled to be weeks away from being with my honey! It can't come soon enough. And if we get to visit Montreal together in spring, even better, right? :luv: I'm thinking of heading to Vancouver for my medical once I get my interview date so that means a lovely visit to Vancouver in the spring too!

Every angle on our story seems positive now that we're (finally) out of TSC.

  14. Thank you CaliforniaGuy

I encourage you to stay on their case and contact your congressman/woman -- it really helps your morale if nothing else. I wonder if you have the same congressman as us (Adam Schiff) - that may help too. His staff person made us feel so good by responding so quickly. If it weren't for the second expedite, waiting 60 more days means we would have been lucky if I got my interview and visa in November or December - the worst case scenario was February 2012 or later. So we were pretty despondednt before we got the email this evening - and then we were all smiles!!!! 8-)

  15. Congrats! :dance::dance:

That is weird though, why would they make you wait that long after receiving the response? They finished most of the 36K cases so I would have thought our cases would have priority over other cases. Right now I don't even have the energy to get mad lol. But I learned if you don't yell out you don't get heard. So I will give them a couple of weeks, after that they WILL hear from me! :bonk:

Because it was so obvious that the documents they RFE'd were official, our lawyer believes that both the RFE and the 60-day delay were retaliation by TSC because we went to our congressman for the first expedite in early January (before they processed the other TSC files). After the 2nd expedite we got a response (this morning) saying we would have to wait 45 days. One never wants to believe in conspiracies or pettiness like retaliation, but I must admit I wondered, and this adds to my concerns. I am so proud of my husband for persisting and staying positive even when I got discouraged. This made me think that it does pay sometimes to fight for your democratic rights (not to mention your rights as a paying customer).
