  1. Hi Everyone,

Thuy and Bao have now been here for 2 months and are settling into American life. We are now ready to file for AOS but I have a question. The I-134 form we sent in during the visa process was approved but do we also need to file a I-864 form for AOS?

Thanks again in advance for any help or tips during this process. So many people here have made the entire process much easier for us and others.

  2. Hi guys,

Hope you are all doing well. I want to know if anyone knows where to get good flight prices to Vietnam for this summer. I am ready to book and don't really care about the dates as long as it is during summer. The boys have to get back to see their grandmother. I have checked the airlines and all seem to be in the 2200 plus for the cheap tickets. If anyone knows of those travel deals could you please share. Thanks to all and good luck to all those going through the frustration.

I've flown 3 times from SFO to SGN in the last 2 years and never paid more than $950. July and Aug. are sometimes cheap. Try www.kayak.com About 1700 from PIT or 1500 out of Akron/Canton (CAK)

  3. Ron, sorry to hear that. a hot shower with the water on the back will help loosen any phlegm. your problem seems to be there is none to produce. i read that drinking plenty of fluids the night before may help. I know my wife hates it cold when she sleeps. on days whenn the room is cold she wakes up with phlegm, and she is not a happy camper. hope that helps some. good luck

    Happy Thanksgiving

Thanks for the tips! Eating raw egg is what finally did the trick! ;) Ghe qua!! Horrible But...... It worked, if anyone else is intrested. Best of luck to all!!

  4. Will it ever end? Thuy passed her interview with flying colors but still needs her medical. They have asked her to report 630am to give a sputum sample for 3 days in a row. The problem is she can not produce any phlegm. Phlegm is easy to produce when your sick or have allergys but not easy if in good health. What can she do? Im sure others have had this same problem. Any insight? Ideas? Once again, Thanks in advance!!

  5. I sent my passport, visa exemption app. and a money order to the vn consulate in SF 2 weeks ago and the money order isnt cashed yet. Tracking # shows it was received. I Cant get anyone to answer the phone or reply to my emails. Anybody have experience with this consulate? Im a little worried about my passport.

    Thanks

    Frank

I have delt with the SF VN consulate several times and have had a good experince. But I always deal them in person and never do I send my passport to anyone. Its strange that they dont answer the phone though. They have been good about that in the past. Maybe try a different number. Good Luck!

  6. Hello again to all,

Thuy has her interview scheduled for Nov 19th and we are both hopeing and praying for pink! However, she has heard there, and I have heard here as well that many who recieve a visa only have a short time to use it. In some cases only one week. All that I have seen before states that the visa is good for 6 months. If anyone has some insight on this I would love to hear from them.

Also, concerning my I-134, my last two years tax returns dont show that I made enough money due to loss of a job and our economy here. I now have a good job again and make more than enough. Will this be a problem for us and are there ways to solve it.

Thanks again to all who have shared and helped in the Vietnam portal and thanks in advance for your help!

  7. Thanks Everyone,

Thats the info I was looking for.

Maybe its just me but, I have found Vietnam to be wonderfully simple and logical.

I wish that was true for the visa process as well! ;)

    Thanks again for the help,

    Ron

  8. Hello All,

First I want to say thanks to all who have shared thier knowledge and experinces. I have learned alot just by reading what others have shared. I wish I had found this website 2 years ago!

Now I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help me with.

I would like to know if there is an example somewhere of a good Relationship Timeline that I could use as a guide.

Also, the Visa Fee, $350 each for Thuy and her 4 year old son. Yes? And if we should happen to recieve the dreaded blue, These same fees need to be paid again for a 2nd interview?

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Ron
