  1. Bring everything you sent to NVC (Original BC, MC, CENOMAR, NBI Clearance), yes... including the divorce decree (bring this to your CFO appointment). Also, if you changed your name to your married name... make sure you have TWO NBI certificate. One with your maiden name, the other with your married name (with alias of your maiden name). Not exactly an SOP but you never know... in case you meet a very ####### CO.

If you are below 21 (or 25 not really sure; check with CFO), bring an affidavit/parental consent to your CFO appointment too. There was one in our group who had to go all the way back to province and back to Manila to get her CFO just because she forgot or didn't know that they need it.

    Good luck to you!

about the NBI clearance, can i just show the personal copy at USEM? or do i need to get a new set of NBI clearance?

  2. me and my son are beneficiaries of IR1 filed by my husband.

we just got the visa fee bill for our son last week but none yet for myself. we called NVC this morning and was told that the visa bill for myself should arrive within the week and that we should call them back if it hasnt arrived before the week ends....

    just worried :(

  3. i am filling out DS-230 for myself (my husband is petitioning me under IR1), when i noticed that the age of my parents in my birth certificate does not match their actual age. what is the most legal thing to do? really confused here...

i believe for IR1, they would not be asking for my parents birth certificate. my birth certificate does not contain their birthdates only their ages.

my father'a age was adjusted 1 year older while my mother's was adjusted a year younger.

  4. If you have a son together, it is inappropriate to file for a green card. Your son would be a US Citizen by the virtue of his parenthood. I would not pay your son's bill and withdraw his petition, and instead file for citizen birth abroad for him. You may be required to submit DNA tests to prove his father was a USC.

hi, the petitioner is in the US and both me and my son are abroad... we both need visa to join my husband...

  5. Not sure if someone has experienced the same thing... here goes-

my husband is petitioning me and our 3 year old son under IR-1

we just received the visa fee request (invoice) in the email today but only for our son. i've sent both of our ds-3032 together in one packet.

would it be possible for nvc to have misplaced my ds-3032 or should we be expecting the visa fee request for myself in the next few days?

    thanks!!!
