  1. Well, with the disclaimer that I"ll have to go back over the instructions to double check that they're still the same (i'll do this tomorrow i'm dead tired)....you'll have to photocopy every single page of your passport...both sides of your birth certificate okay but just remember down the road that documents in spanish will need to have an english translation.

  2. what I meant to say is what state you ...are living it. but don't worry about sending to CA or VT that's ancient history. Apparently now everybody sends the I-129F to Dallas. Feel free to ask me anything if you need any help at all, congrats & good luck!

  3. I wouldn't worry too much about the two-ring binder stuff. I think it's just a suggestion, the way I did it was by organizing the packet according to my cover sheet, separating everything w/ paper clips and paper stamps (for the thicker stacks of evidence).

When I sent the I-129F (may 2010) the instructions were to send to either CA or VT, depending upon which state you a...

  4. I didn't use an agency, just completed it on my own with occasional help from coffee & redbull. I did pay an immigration lawyer $150 to do a "doc review" before turning in the I-129F...but I'm still not sure if it was worth it. At the very least include as much evidence as possible and quadruple check all of the instructions and forms.

  5. Also - if you call or shop around with immigration attorneys I wouldn't pay any more than $150 to do a "doc review" -- I have a friend of mine in law school and he bartered them down to $75 for the review.

  6. I just read and re-read all of the instructions to all the immigration documents, kept meticulous records documenting our relationship...and read up on the forums of this website, asked questions and read the Lima Embassy reviews. When the time came I included as much information as I possibly could - I'd rather provide too much than too little evidence, just in case.

  7. AlpacaUSA - an agency like an immigration attorney? I completed the required papers on my own...however, I did have an immigration attorney do a "document review" of the initial K1 visa paperwork that I turned into USCIS. In hindsight, it was more for my peace of mind than anything because he didn't catch anything more than a typo and once missed signature...which I would have cau...

  8. Nadiia and Eric - I appreciate the recommendation! We'll be checking it out soon enough, thank you very much

  9. SchatzieCharlie - I'm not sure because we haven't done it quite yet. If you look through my content I posted on an ongoing post about affordable US civil surgeons & somebody mentioned a doctor in Maryland Heights, MO here in STL (the suburbs at least)...we'll just be transcribing the info but I'll keep you posted on how much $ it cost.

  10. Hi, yeah I'm Peruvian on my mom's side (but i was also born there) and my fiancee's also Peruvian...she'll be moving here February 10th. I can't wait, but I know she's in for a culture shock. How do you like St. Louis so far?
