    so my husband has been approved but he has to send in a new police clearance - long and frustrating story.

      No - we got the normal "National Police Clearance" which as accepted a-ok. We also checked with the embassy if they wanted us to bring anything besides passport, envelope and medical (all they had specified) and they said nothing else. During the interview...oh you need the police clearance with the fingerprints from the AFP...
