The P4 letter just says the consulate has completed the review of the IV case, you are now ready for an interview, then has the instructions for the website to go and book your date, the fees (they accept credit card), and the documents you need to bring (same as what was on the P3 checklist). Also contains instructions for booking your medical.

Nothing you haven't already read. I think you should be ok with your P3 and your interview printout.

I just wanted to thank you, I called Medisys (where I am having my medical) and they will accept my first letter with my file number on it and also said to bring a copy of the paper showing my interview time. They basically just don't want people coming in for medicals before they have done the paperwork. Thank you for giving me that bit of information, you have taken much stress off of me !

You should be fine using your dad's gf as joint sponsor (is she the only one in her household?). You unfortunately cannot use the value of your car, they will only use value of a secondary car, not primary.

Can you say what types of financial documents they asked you for?

The address was incomplete,,then I suggest please email a catching Subject..something in Capital letters with URGENT! PLS RESEND PACKET 4 YOUR MAIL DID NOT REACH US...Then you explain what you learned from DOS bla bla bla and it is important that you communicated this to them...to note in your file or else No Record..No Evidence...

For what it's worth, canok, I don't think they actually needed the P4 at the medical. They used to, but I told the girl the P4 no longer has the interview date on it, and she said just bring something with your case number on it (like P3 letter). All I needed at the consulate was my printout of my self-scheduled interview. Nobody looked at the (new) P4 letter. I think you might be ok, you should maybe call wherever you're doing the medical to double check.

Packet 4 is the interview letter correct? Did DoS tell you your interview date? If so you might end up going to the interview without the letter and explain that you never received it by mail. Montreal is hella hard to get ahold of

Actually they don't send you an interview date anymore, just a letter telling you that you are eligible for an interview and you go online and set-up your own interview. The unfortunate thing is that you require the letter for your medical and for the interview.

We also called this number Dept Of State ( DOS) for visa immigration Inquiries

202-663-1225 press 1, 0, 0 ( or listen to the prompts)

Just be ready with your Case Number

Open M-F 8-5 PM

You can talk to someone and ask them about your case.

Thanks, we did contact the DOS again today and all that we got from them was a confirmation that they address that they have on file, does not contain our unit number, however they cannot do anything about it... they told us "we have to contact Montreal and we had better get on it" When we asked if they had any recommendations, they said "they do not have any access to Montreal files"... and so the saga continues, sigh

Have you tried calling Montreal directly? or if you sent an email have can catching title like " Packet 4 you mailed lost in Mail... then your Case #" or you can make up your own. I tried this trick before and works as I got a response faster.

Unfortunately I have tried calling Montreal and all of the numbers to call Montreal, just end up being to recorded messages (if anyone knows of something different, please let me know). I have tried the emailing (with no answer), however I will try another title I just wish there was someone there to talk to there, however I guess absolutely everyone would be calling them then.

Congrats birdnerd!! Your review does help to take some of the worry away... although we will see if that can last until our actual interview dates.

Refresh my memory - DoS told you P4 was mailed? When was that? Did they confirm you are 'eligible for interview'?

If the answer is yes, then maybe try emailing Mtl consulate (they actually REPLIED to someone the other day!) and explain the situation.

Don't worry too much, you've still got plenty of time between now and your interview date, so I'm sure you can get it worked out.

The DS-160 is only for the K (and other non-immigrant) visas, you don't need one.

If they've mailed you a P4, that means you're eligible for interview, so you are fine to go ahead and book a date. Once you've booked your date, then you can book a medical. You will want to bring your P4 letter to that, so give it another week or so, and if you haven't received it yet, then ask them to send it again. But there's nothing in it that you need to book an interview.

Watch out for the glitch, though, it takes you to a 'login' page for CSC. Ignore this, press 'back', and try again. If that doesn't work, call your local access number. These are found a page or two back in the thread.

It's great to see everyone getting their packages!! I was "mailed my package" on September 10th however I still haven't received it... are most people that are receiving packages located in eastern Canada? I'm just hoping that it's just taking an extra day or two for western Canada . However again I am worried because I never did receive my first package by mail (sent to me on March 28th), I really hope that this is not the case again. Because of this, I am also hesitant to book my appointments, just in case I don't receive the paperwork in the mail. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do?

We went through the DCF Route and after I got the Packet 4, I have a Case Number MTLXXXXXXX and this is what I gave to NVC plus my name and they have a history of my record. I usually inquired if we have an interview date assigned and that's when I knew what to expect.

Can anyone tell me what packet 4 contains? I thought that it contained your actual interview date; however when I just talked to DOS she mentioned that packet 4 has been sent but an interview date has not been scheduled, and that I will have to do that when I receive packet 4.

Also, I tried to find out what mailing address they have on file for me, and as soon as I gave her my unit #, she said that they have no unit # for me on file....AHHHH now I have to try and get ahold of the consulate in Montreal.

Yep, I have forwarding set up (had to do another 3 months after the first 3 expired in July). Even in touch with the girl who moved into our house, she's keeping an eye out just in case. I wish I knew if I was in postal limbo, but as I mentioned, DoS is still claiming there's no date set.

You may want to try emailing too. I never did received my DS 230 forms, etc in the mail, even though they were sent to me on March 29th; it was a good thing that I sent an email at the end of April or I would have never known... it makes me wonder if it ever was mailed. I hope that the same thing doesn't happen for my interview or I won't have a chance. I have also had no luck when trying to find out if they have the proper address on file.

I am wondering how you check on the status of your file, if you have been assigned a Montreal case number? I was also wondering if anybody has issues receiving mail from Montreal, I sent an email to find out the status of my file (I-130) and received a reply that a package had been sent to me on "March 29th" and I never did receive it, and there seems that there is no way to check where the package was sent.
