  1. How long before my husband recieves his work permit. we filed both together (i-485 & i-765) on january 28th they

is there a specific number that i can call to find out if this process will be taken place before he gets his green card.

We found him a job but he obviously can not start until he gets his work permit.

because i heard that he can get it before he gets his green card.

  2. Quick Question if i can get a response,

My Husband which is currently in the process of the AOS, and has a bimetrical appt next week

My Uncle needs help with a construction job in Puerto Rico, and wants my husband to help him out.

Now the question is would he be able to travel to P.R without a problem since its part of the usa.

He hasa valid State I.D Which i believe he can travel with, since its within the united states.

please :help: or words of wisdom, or expierince, or if you know the answer i am looking for.

    ill appreciate any advice possible.

  3. It's good to hear from you again. For the same fee (US$1,070) you can file for 3 different forms: Adjustment of Status (AOS), Advance Parole (AP), and Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Remember that your husband cannot leave the country until his advance parole or his permanent resident card are approved and in hand. Also, he cannot work until his EAD is approved. You need to send a translation with any document that is not in English. Best wishes!

with the translation of my husbands birth certificate that it is spanish(to english), does it need to notirized, or just translated by someone with a name and signature and maybe contact information.

can someone let me know about this.... if you guys know...:help:

  4. No address change needed, the address on I-485, and I-864 will be your new address for Green-card.

Anytime after filing this application, until naturalization for citizenship, AR-11 and I-865 will be needed to be filed for any move.

    AR-1 for green-card holder.

I-865 anytime a sponsor moves. This ends only on one of 5 conditions (Sponsor dies, immigrant dies, Immigrant moves home and gives up green-card, immigrant naturalizes, immigrant works and is credited with 40 quarters of work)

okay, SO ONLY AFTER THE AOS HAS BEEN FILED AND I MOVE I WILL NEED TO FILE THE I-865 AND AR-11?

  5. No new birth cert needed, USCIS considers a birth cert to be valid until death, no matter if the cert has an exp date.

On for I-765 note (C )(9 ) on question #16. This is what bases the I-765 on pending I-485 and includes it in the filing fee for I-485.

So just the $1,070.00 is needed? not the 380?

(havent filed aos yet but by the end of this week i am)just making sure that they

dont return it to me because of a fee missing)

  6. I want to make sure that when i file for the I-485 i dont need to submit a payment of $380 because as i read i dont need to pay this fe if i am filling the I-485 with the biometric fee.($1,070.00)

As i see, with the required forms i dont see any other fees, that need to be submitted. i just want to make sure that i am following the instructions correctly.

*i have an additional question which concerns me

i ha ve my fiance's birth certificate, but in the dominican republic it expires withina month when you get a copy (i dont know why) it expired (Nov 08,2010) (***which i know i have to translate)

do we need to get another birth certificate mailed to us from d.r (by a family member)

Do you guys think that if i submit it like that with a translation in english would it be ok!

    :help:

  7. Not a problem. My I-94 expired Dec 12th 2009 (or something) but I didn't file till April 2010 (for personal reasons) so my I-94 was definitely expired.

It IS in your best interests to file ASAP but there is no deadline. Start getting the paperwork together now (there's an AOS thread in my signature that will help you) and then file as soon as you can. Sooner you file, sooner he can get a job, sooner he can leave the country (and return) and the sooner he feels more like a regular person (and as someone who waited, trust me that the sooner he feels like that less stress you and he will feel).

    Good luck!

Thank you. im defenitly going to ake your advice.

  8. omg what a relief to hear this (well read this) lol

    i was getting stressed out,

the reason for this question was b/c my fiance was trying to get an MASS I.D and they said at the registry that he can get an i.d before the january 27th date... BECAUSE THEN THEY NO LONGER CAN USE HIs passport as an I.D in USA.

so that made me ask this question. SO happy that visa journey exists! Thank you guys...

  9. thats the thing i never received a packet from the embasy only my fiance did ...and it was becausde he went to pick it up...

he asked isf there was something for me to so that he can fax they said no just tell her to bring the affidavit support and a letter from the bank...

i thought i had to bring a letter from my job stating that i work there and the wage...

im stilll going to do this just in case....

  10. My fia nce picked up his packet and asked is there something that he should fax me in example the list of things that i may need to bring to the interview and the lady said yes an affdavit support and a letter from the bank....

so my question is do i ihave the person that is doing the avidavit support fill out the form with all the information and just bring it with me the day of the interview

wouldnt they need time to review the affidavit support to know that it is ligit.... and does my affidavit supporter need to attach a letter from their bank stating last deposits and current balance in account?

so basically do i have to mail the affidavit support to the nvc or just take it with me filled out?

Please help the interview is the 13th of october and i want to make sure im in the right dirrection... :help:

  11. Okay guys i need some answers and i need :help: from you guys...at least some aswers thoughts or someoneto tell me this is normal cus i dont know what to think....

my petition was approved on june14th 2010

and the nvc still has no record of my case its been 2weeks

this is freaking me out...tried calling the embassy in dominican republic and they told me

they could not give information over the phone...

i must have got someone that was covering a break or something because home girl did not know anything.

The point is that has anyone at least know that their package was received by the NVC through the auto messaging system they have available?

i dont care how long it takes for the NVC to view everything over ...it just worries me :( that they have not received it...or have no record of it.

  12. I HAVE SOME CONCERNS I RECEIVED MY NA01 AND I AM WONDERING BOUT MY LETTER OF INTENT.

I HAD NO I DEA HOWC TO WRITE IT SO MY FIANCE AND I WROTE IT HAS LIKE AN EXPLAINATION OF OUR STORY AND MENTIONED DAT WE ARE MAKING PLANS TO GET MARRIED AND BUILD A FAMILY SOON..

IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS WOULD THEY HAVE EVEN SENT ME AN NAO1 IN THE MAIL BECAUSE I DID NOT USE THE

THE STANDARD WAY OF WRITTING THE LETTER OF INTENT.. :bonk: .. COULD THIS BE A PROBLEM ??

AND AS FOR THE AFFIDAVIT QUESTIONS .. CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG WHEN THEY SEND THE NAO2 I SHOULD RECEIVE SOMETHING STATING IF I NEED TO DO AN AFFIDAVIT SUPPORT FOR MY FIANCE

AND ALSO THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW IF I NEED A LETTER FROM MY JOB OR BANK TO MAKE SURE I HAVE A BANK ACCOUNT AND THINGS OF DIS NATURE..

MY SISTER DID THE SAME PROCESS FOR HER FIANCE BUT IT WAS LIKE 10 YRS AGO AND SHE MENTIONED ALOT MAY HAVE CHANGED TRY TO SEE IF THIS IS CORRECT.
