  1. Well... here is my timeline so far... sent the documents a month after the ROC window had opened but it looks like it's moving at a good speed so I'm a happy guy :) Only 3 weeks til the biometrics!

    05-10-2012 - ROC window open

    06-11-2012 - Mailed I-751

    06-13-2012 - Delivered at CSC

    06-15-2012 - Check cashed

    06-19-2012 - NOA received dated 6-13-12

  2. i think you had to some how update the snn card even you keep your old one, when my husband becomes USC they told him that he had to update the card so that he is USC in the system. Although a friend of mine who came here 2001 as well does not have restriction on the card, when she applied for unemployment with H1b visa, they found out anyway that she is not greencard holder. So i think when you have time, its better to double check to make sure that you are not alien anymore in the SSN system.

You are probably right. My SS card might not have any restrictions but I might be registered in the system as an F1 student. I will swing by the ss office to see if I need to make any changes. Thanks a lot for the advice!!!

  3. I have a question for everyone who have had their interview, if you used a lawyer to file your AOS did you bring him/her to the interview? I used a lawyer to file but wasn't going to bring him to the interview (costs $200 more than all I've already paid him too).

I just had my interview yesterday and I'm glad I didn't pay a lawyer to come with me. I don't think you are going to need one during the interview. I have heard that sometimes if you take a lawyer you might have separate interviews but I guess it always depends on the IO and the office where you go. In my opinion, the only reason to take a lawyer is if you have a complicated case that needs some explanation from an expert, other than that you might be waisting your money.

    Good luck!

  4. APPROVED!!!! Finally!

    Here is my experience:

The appointment was at 1:00 pm. Since we knew that St Louis office is not busy at all we arrived 15 minutes before the appointment. Dropped off the letter and waited until 1:20 to be called. An IO called my name. The IO name was Kathy. A very nice lady. After swearing she asked for photo ID and passports. Then she asked where we were living and where did we meet. Then she asked for joint accounts and pictures. After less than 10 minutes into the interview she gave me a piece of paper to sign, it mention the removal of conditions and the approval. She spent some more time scanning pictures, bank statements, etc. She told me that I was approved but that I needed to go back to the clinic where I got the medical exam because they didn't fill the paperwork correctly. She was nice and said that if I could bring it back before 3 she will accepted so that I didn't have to mail it. Also she will be able to stamp my passport after receiving the paperwork corrected. I went to the clinic and made it back on time to give Kathy the new medical forms corrected.

All this was a lot easier than I expected. It helped a lot the fact that the St Louis office handles a very small amount of cases. They seem to be a lot more relax.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and help.

Good luck to everyone that has their interviews coming up!

Good luck bhangu, Felipe, and Nico!!!! And in case I don't make it in here again today, good luck tomorrow, SweetApple, and on Thursday, 1500528!!!! Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things!

Thanks for the positive energy... it helped!

  5. okay...maybe I'm being impatient but does anyone thinks its wired that I haven't got my interview letter or an EAD production yet. VJ EAD processing time says they are process applications filed on May 16th 2010 and the average day between bio and EAD approval is 33days. I fall within both those stipulations. I file on may 7th and its been about 40 days since my bio.

Do you think I should be worried, because I am.

Tuts, I received the interview letter 57 days after receiving bio letter and 51 days after completing bio.

Also, I received the first EAD production order 63 days after receiving bio letter and 57 days after completing bio.

So in my opinion, and keeping in mind that we both have the case at Lee Summit, MO, I think you are fine.

One thing that I did was to call USCIS and expedite the EAD telling them that my wife had a debt to pay and I needed to work. That probably helped but again, your timeline seems just fine.

If you look at my timeline you will see that there was a period of over 40 days (between 5/27 and 7/8) without any updates until I received the interview letter on 7/8.

    Good luck

  6. I like to see everyone's positive attitude here... as well as the cool dancing lol This group has been really helpful. I'm glad to see people from other forums coming to this one for ideas, advice, or help.

I received the second document production order for EAD yesterday. I hope next week I get the EAD card.

Good luck to everyone... keep the dancing going :)

  7. I GOT THE INTERVIEW LETTER TODAY!!!

Our appointment is on August 17 at 12.15pm!!! :)

Hopefully they will be in a rush to leave for lunch and not too hungry and grumpy!

CONGRATS HOPPLA!!! IT'S A GOOD FEELING TO RECEIVE THAT PAPER AFTER WAITING FOR SO MANY DAYS.

EVERYONE WILL GET THEIR LETTER SOONER OF LATER.

EVERYONE, HERE IS A LINK I FOUND WITH SAMPLE QUESTIONS FOR THE INTERVIEW. I'M NOT SURE IF ANYONE HAS SEEN IT BUT I THOUGHT I WILL SHARE IT WITH ALL OF YOU.

    http://www.***removed***/greencard/***removed***/marriage-based-greencard-fraud-interview.html

GOOD LUCK TO SCIENTIST WITH TOMORROWS INTERVIEW. MAKE SURE YOU LET US ALL KNOW HOW IT GOES AND WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS THEY ASK.

    TAKE CARE

  8. I'm taking it you meant your card production was ordered two days after you requested an expedite. How/When did you requested the expedite. I've tried it twice including using the congress office and seem to be getting nowhere.

Tuts, I'm in the same situation. I requested an expedite on July 1 and I have only received an email the next day. After that nothing has happened to my case, still on initial review. It hasn't been updated or touched, and it shows that the last update was on May 27.

  9. Thanks to everyone for all the messages.

It was about time I receive the letter... 57 days is quite some time!!!

Felipe, yes it's crazy we got the same date and time. Good luck to you!

Tuts, I know you will get it. If I got it, you will get it. At one point I thought they had forgotten about my case because I didn't see any updates for over 30 days. In your case there have been more updates so that means that at least they are looking at your case. You should be getting it soon... good luck, be patient, and stay positive.

    Take care

  10. Good morning everyone!

Great news.... Finally!!! I received the interview letter yesterday... that's right, a Thursday. The letter is dated July 2. The interview is schedule for August 10 at 1:00 pm.

During the entire process or since May 5th, my case was only touch once. Form I485 was touched on May 19th, the day after I got the early biometrics done. Forms I765 and I130 were touched on May 27th, the date before my original biometrics appointment. Since then, none of my forms were touched and the case was always under "initial review" status. As of today, my case still remains in initial review status.

I notice that so far 2 more people received the letter for the same date (August 10). Felipe and I have the same date for the interview and the same hour, even though we are in different cities.

One thing to keep in mind is that I got my biometric letter back on May 12th. I believe I was the first one to receive the bio but it took me almost 60 days to receive my interview letter. So, there is still some hope for the ones that are not even close to the 60 day mark and haven't receive anything yet. I didn't have any RFEs and my case was only touched once, so stay positive... you will all get it sooner or later!!!

Now it's waiting time, 30 days until interview. I guess that should be enough time to prepare!

Good luck to everyone that is still waiting for interview letter. Remember, stay positive and be patient. I waited almost 60 days for the interview letter!!!!

  11. Yes, and Nico's. I feel guilty because mine went all according to plan, even though I should have gotten an RFE. You guys got the short end of the stick.

Thank you for the support! I thought I was getting the interview letter sooner since I was the first one to get the bio letter but I guess now I will be the last one to get the interview. Hopefully today... if not, then tomorrow.

    Good luck to everyone else

  12. Well, one month since last touch. No interview letter in the mail yet. Case still on "initial review" status and going for day number 50 since receiving biometrics letter. I'm starting to think they forgot about my case. I want to call a congressman but I don't know who will be the right one in Missouri.

Does anyone have any idea who is the congressman in Missouri that might be able to help me? Any advice?

  13. Obrigado :)

    thanks everybody

hey just an update i can see a lot of people getting their interview letters today looks like USCIS send all the letters at once usually on thursday :hehe: so Nico330 maybe you can get your letter on the next days or so and if you don't get by next week you can always get help from a congressman of your area they do some kind of follow up to make sure your process its been look by the USCIS IO .

Thanks Felipe 23! I hope to get it soon because it seems that it's taking longer than what is supposed to. I will contact a congressman if by next week I haven't receive anything.

  14. Just called USCIS. My case is still at the National Benefits Center. It has been more than 30 days since receiving bio letter. Still no signs of interview or EAD. I guess there is no "30-day theory" for me. It definitely proves that it could take more than 30 days (after getting biometrics letter) to receive the interview letter.

So, if 30 days have gone by after bio letter and you haven't received interview letter... don't panic. Just call and try to get a hold of somebody and ask them what is the status and where is your application at. I was the first one from the list to receive the bio letter and after 41 days still haven't seen any signs of interview letter.

Good luck to everyone annnnnndddd let the waiting game continue :rofl: !!!

  15. Ours must be in the same pile. crying.gif

I guess so. I hope to hear something by the end of this week or the next one. I thought my process was going a little faster than usual but I guess it was just for the biometrics appointment. I'm assuming if I haven't gotten any updates it will be a good thing. I have seen a lot of people getting RFEs and getting more updates... I'm not sure if this is good or bad. I guess I should be glad that I haven't received any RFEs yet.

We will se what happens next. Good luck to everyone, including those who are looking for jobs too.

  16. OK, most of us have received our biometrics appointments, and some have done walk-ins. I think maybe we have lost meijie, Piccolacarina, and 1500528. Squirrely and barcelona are still waiting for the bio appt, but I'm sure they will have it this week! immi267 I have no info on...hmmmm.

    Next step...interview letters!
