  1. After all, I got the Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony by mail today. The ceremony will be held on 6/30/11,8AM, Los Angeles Convention Center. I'm very excited after all things I have gone through.

Now.. I'm wondering those 8 questions in the back of the letter because I did travel back to Japan for 2 weeks, and get married. So does it really affect my naturalization? And would I got questioned/interviewed by IO in the day of Oath Ceremony? And what kind of document I have to bring with? And what is the entire process, step-by-stey, of the Oath Ceremony? Please advice, many thanks.

  2. Update: The 120-days have been passed, and I have gone through the InfoPass at USCIS local office. Then they sent me to citizenship interview room, and one of the officer talked to me and gave me an answer with "Consolidation of file, review of a file, completion of all background checks". The officer also told me to wait another 1-2 months for decision.

What should I do?? Ask my U.S Representative for help? Should I sue them by Manda by filling a mandamus petition?

  3. Does anyone experiences this before?

My district office is Los Angeles, CA.

I filed my N400 on April 2010, did my Biometrics on June 2010, and I passed my interview on November 2010.

After I passed the citizenship test, USCIS officer told me my permanent immigrant file wasn't present at the moment. So he gave me a receipt saying that "No further action on your part is required at this time. Upon receipt of the below checked boxes, your application can be acted upon: Your Permanent immmigrant file".

+/- 3 month have been passed, and I haven't received anything yet.

    Any advices?

  4. Finally I went to my Citizenship Interview today. There were total 8 questions with English reading & writting and 6 oral questions, and I passed the tests. The entire process was smooth exepting I had to wait about 2 before my name was called for interview.

After the test, the officer told me that he has to have my permanent immigrant file in order to grant me as a U.S Citizen. So he gave me a notice called "Citizenship Notice" and stated that: "No further action on your part is required at this time. Upon receipt of the below checked boxes, you application can be acted upon : Your permanent immigrant file."

    Has anyone experience this before?

  5. Hi JennyZ and welcome to VJ!!!

Section B needs to be left empty and not N/A. They deal with applications like this all the time so it is not new to them if the section is left empty.

I am sure several people have applied after they got divorced so they will pitch in their method of filling out the form.

Please read the Naturalization Guide http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/M-476.pdf it is very helpful and informative. Go to page 48 in this PDF - there is a document checklist.

So Section B, C, D, E and G have to be left empty instead of N/A? Because the instructions say that "state that an item is not applicable with N/A", I'm kinda confused now~~

  6. in what month of 2005 did you get your GC?

you have to fill out section F of part 8, the rest leave blank since you aren't currently married.

section F says: If you were married before, provide the following information about your prior spouse. I also filled out my N400 as divorced. I came to the US as divorced and my mom filed for me as an unmarried child of a USC. I sent in copies of my divorce decree just in case. I'm not sure if it was necessary.

you need to send in copy of your driver's license, and copy of front and back of your GC. and of course, the check.

I got my GC on July 20, 2005

So all I have to fill out A and F only? Am I right?

    Thank you very much!

  7. Hi there!

I'm new to this forum, and this is a great place to share question and answers. Hopefully I'll find some answers for my application.

    Here is my summary:

got my conditional GC at 2005

got removed conditional GC at 2007

    got divorced at 2009

(my ex and I, both of us were first marriage)

Now I'm doing my N-400, and here's my Question:

In Part 8 of N-400, I filed "1" in Section A, "N/A" in Section B because currently I'm not married to anyone. But for Section C to G, I'm very confused about questions on my current spouse information. Should I give my ex-spouse information? Because most questions are using present term, like "is your spouse a u.s citizen?", "how many times has your current spouse been married(including annulled marriages)?"

Can anyone help me please, thank you!
