  1. Ok, In all you are not out of the 4 months waiting period. You filed yours in May 25th, while we filed ours in April 22nd. But Our case got transfered to CSC in July 22nd, I guess a month after yours. I do not know what date does Immigration go with if any. Well we both have a service request number, and based on that, I guess both our cases are out of the waiting period. Hope that we hear something soon......

I am out of that 4 month period, 25th of September, but all we have to do is wait wait wait

  2. They opened a service request for us couple of days ago, and told me that I should have a response in 30 days. It is funny, I am the US citizen applying for my wife (the Petitioner), and she is getting the green card (the applicant), but each time they want to talk to me about the case, she has to give her consent to the ICE representative, but it's all good.

My husband is a US citizen, and I am supposed to get the GC. I thought I was the petitioner.... And,yes, they told me I should have a response in 30 days, too...

  3. We applied for AOS based on K-1 for my wife 5 months ago, to Chicago Lockbox. We already got AP and EAD from Summit Lee, MI on july 13th and 22nd. On july 22nd our file for AOS got tranfred to CSC ( stating for expediting purposes), but till now we have heard no answer from CSC. I called the 800 number customer service to open a service request reffereal, but the ICE officer answering the call told me that I have to wait another 25 days to call back. We are one month pass the 4 months time period as indicated by CSC for I-485 based on K-1 visa, and do not understand how we can be delayed this long.

What should we do if any other than wait?? Is there any thing we can do?? maybe call our congress person, does that help??

I am in the same position, CSC file transferred, that has not been updated for 3 months almost... I was allowed to open a service request, and they said that I will have a reply in 30 days.. Have you had any interview yet?

  4. Vanessa, I hope you can help me a bit:)

Shortly after posting this, I received my incomplete file, and applied again, by the end of May. We went to biometrics in June, by the beginning of August I received my work permit BUT the AOS has not been touched for 2 months. And no interview date established... Shall I worry? Is there anything I can do? Thank you for your time

After I reapplied 3 weeks after

Actually, the cheque is most DEFINITELY incorrect and WILL result on an RFE when it eventually gets there.

As per the instructions the cheque is to be made payable to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security". They will also accept "United States Citizenship and Immigration Services" but that is not listed on the I-485 instructions so I loath to do something that they don't tell me on the form I'm completing.

Here is a thread to read: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/235331-aos-ead-ap-from-k1-the-aussie-way-doc-list-included/

The mailing address is listed at the bottom of the OP. I would personally send it to the physical address which is what I did when I asked for delivery confirmation. I would HOPE the PO Box would do it the same, but I know a person would sign for my package at the physical address immediately, whereas a PO Box I would have to wait for them to collect it.

Best of luck for it to be returned speedily.

  5. Hey hippyske, Your money orders were made out to "US Homeland Security Department" That is essentially correct. Your application, Form I-485 along with the money orders should have been sent to: U.S. Citizens and Immigration Services, PO Box 805887, Chicago IL, 60680-4120. Sounds like you sent the application to the wrong place using USPS, Priority Mail. The Postal Service should soon be returning your mail to you. When it is returned just send it to the correct address. You will have just lost a few days in the processing time.

I sent the package by mail express to the other address from Chicago, I guess I have to wait for the money to come back. Thank you very much:)

  6. I believe it depends on the receipt date on your NOA (I-797C) - that's the date you're considered to have 'officially' filed ;)

GOOD LUCK TO ALL APRIL FILERS!!! ^___^

May you all have a speedy approval! :D :D :D

From an April filer to another, I need help.. I sent I-485 and I went to USPS for paying $1010. The money orders were sent to the US Homeland Security Departmeent and the lady asked me for a postal code. We assumed it was Washington D.C. code, and now on USPS page, on Track and confirm, I got the message that my mail was "Undeliverable as Addressed".. Can you help me,pls?

    Good luck to all
