  1. Hi all. First off, Thanks to all on this forum. I don't think I could've pulled it off without the valuable resources available here.

The 2 interviews,(wife then daughter) about a month apart, went better than expected. They didn't ask me for one shred of additional evidence ie. photos, SS statement, Bank records etc. Only the pertinent docs. Thank God!

My daughter has her US passport and birth certificate while my wife has her visa and SS number. Along with that came an envelope that says "Do Not Open".

OK I've heard some things about this and what I'm going to ask, but unsure of the reliability of info. so I hope to find some validity here. Final question here; What happens when we arrive at MIA(Miami) Customs/Immigration? Is this where they'll ask for the envelope? I'm concerned about having enough time for the connecting flight. It's a 3.5 hour layover and I heard if you have an envelope you gotta wait a few hours in an additional line for this. Also, do I need to bring any, and I emphasize "ANY", information that I brought with me to the interviews at the embassy? I have briefcase stuffed with papers and whatnot that I'd really prefer to leave at home if I don't need them.

Honestly I don't like coming back through MIA, cuz it's more like a PIA than anything else(in my humble opinion :) )whereas LAX has never been a problem.

So if someone could give me a rundown of what to expect when going through immigration at MIA, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Gary

  2. Thanks muñequita y osito that helps a bunch and looks like I'm right in line with the financial requirements.

So I'm wondering if NVC will actually check with the IRS on that last year. Is this a standard protocol? in other words, are they going to verify that I filed?

Also, does this include state tax documents? or just federal?

I'm a dummy when it comes to any government form :help:

  3. OK. So it's time to send in the I-864 and to be honest, my finances are all over the place. :bonk: I'm self employed and haven't filed for 2010 but the 1040 is ready to go and have copies in hand. The reason being is that my tax person wants to hold off until my wife and daughter arrive and obtain their SS #'s to readjust for dependents etc but I don't know if that's possible. I don't have ITIN #'s for them either. It's a long story but this is where it's at.

As I understand it I'll need to show the last three years of income but only the last year will be researched. Is this correct?

Basically, I'd like to know what nvc is going to want and what they do to research the past three years of income.

Also, I'll need to know what poverty + 25% mark is for 2008-2010 and if those numbers fluctuate with dependents then it would be 3.(me my wife and daughter)

    Thanks a bunch! :)

  4. Wow. DNA test it is. But where do you specifically read, "Have to prove the child is that of a US citizens to claim US citizenship. Without the USC being on the birth certificate" etc?

Anyone savvy on form 4506T? I didn't see anything about it here or the I-864 but I thought it's better to ask than not. Heck I'll just bring a copy of the 864 to for her to check out.

    Thanks,

    Gary

  5. Alright, so my daughter was born in DR, is 3 years old and has never left the country. For the record she is my bio daughter and my spouse and I were married prior to her birth. I was told here that I don't need an I-130 for her and to go to the Embassy with whatever form and documentation etc. and they'd issue a US passport in about 6-8 weeks and would cost around $180.00ish.

    What form do I need?

Secondly, I'm about ready to do my 864 but have to get something finished up with my tax lady first. She wants to know if I'll need to sign a 4506T form.

Also, What are the poverty income levels for 2008-09-10?

    Thank yous,

    Gary

  6. Gary, checking box number two to put you as the choice of agent is the best choice since NVC would send you all the bills and ask you for wathever information they need, since you are here in the US it makes it easier and faster to get anything form them. Have you called NVC to give them both of your email addresses?????? if not you should since you could fill out the choice of agent form online and email to NVC for a faster response as long as it comes from her email address of course. Members here on VJ recommend that you do write your case number on the top right hand corner of every paper you sent to NVC just to be safe.

    Awesome. Thanks for the response!

  7. Ok. So after some thought and research I'm going to have her check box #2, fill in my address and email. It seems to make the most sense since I'm US based.

Also, it seems wise to include our case # on the ds-3032 page somewhere too. Doesn't it?

So, is this the right move? Looking for validation here.

    Thanks,

    Gary

  8. Hi all. I'm applying for my wife's visa and we're somewhere in the middle of the process.

My wife received a 4 page letter from NVC. The first two pages are stating to establish communications with her. Also on the first page is the case # and an invoice #. Page 3 is the "Choice of Address and Agent". This is my area of concern. Do we check box #1 or #2? We don't have an agent acting in our behalf however, would I be that agent since I'm handling everything?(probably not) or; Would she check box #2 and put down my US address and email? Therefore, any paperwork pertaining to her from here on out I can forward to her to complete etc. Right?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gary

  9. Ok. I found that this pertains to the I-130, part C, #2"Address", in which I was able to type in the address on the actual application, however, the city name technically is "San Pedro de Macoris" but I only had enough room to type San Pedro Macoris, Leaving out the "de".

Also, the beginning of the address starts with "Barrio" in which I abreviated Bo.

Would they reject it because of this or one of these two things?

  10. Hi all. On the front of my packet was stapled a NOA stating,

"The application/petition has not been fully completed. One or more of the following field(s) were not completed:

    - Part C Address "

I can't figure out what part of "Part C" they're talking about. I'm not even sure if it pertains to the I-130 or the G-325's. For my wife's previous addresses I had to attach a second sheet with that info because her addresses are much too long to fit on the original application. I did sign and date that sheet too.

    Maybe I'll call USCIS.

Also, all the app's, photos, check etc. have been either stamped, typed or written on.

When I correct "Part C", Can I just resend the same packet?

    Any ideas or questions welcome!

    Thanks,

    Gary
