So as I was entering my US Embassy at the security check I had to tell the time of my interview. During the interview, I was asked to present my Mothers original birth certificate. Then I was asked how long my Mother was living in the US. Next officer asked me how many times I visited my Mother in the US and how long my every stay was. Also, I was questioned if my Mom obtained US citizenship. And then officer informed me that my visa is issued and it's a valid date. Thank you very much, best wishes to you all.

This is my Oath Ceremony experience.

My oath was on Wednesday at 1 pm, although they started a little late. We left around 11 am and arrived around 12pm in Chicago Downtown. Then we went to waiting room on 3th flour. My family had to sit in the visitor's section and I had to sit in Oath Ceremony section. Then, around 1:30 the lines began to move. Before entering we were asked to show them our Oath letter and then told to go to have a seat in Auditorium. I gave the IO my green card and my oath letter. He looked at it, signed it, and then I was off to take my seat with number. Who traveled between Interview and Oath must have travel document-passport.

I sat down in second row (do not change your seat). On our chairs we found a white envelope. I grabbed them, sat down and waited. Our families were allowed to come into our area 15 min later. Afterwards the ceremony began. The speaker was saying there were 135 people taking the oath that day and that he was going to say which countries we represented. I am originally from Poland, and there were people from 37 countries. The Judge came in afterwards and she introduced herself. Then we did the pledge of allegiance and sang the Star - Spangled Banner. We saw the movie abut history of immigration to the US. Then the judge told us to stand up for the oath. We all held up our right hand and said the oath. Next we listened the President Obama speech. Later the judge gave a speech and when she was done, we were let go one by one to pick up our certificates.

The Social Security Administration was not there to update our information (we could do it in our hometown).

We also have to visit DMV facility (driver’s license office) to update our info.

There were no people to sign us up to vote. You can do this on lnternet.

The overall experience was exciting and memorable.

I also received two oath letters: one from our local office which is Chicago (09/27/13), and another one from the National Benefits Center (yesterday). All is the same except the date when the oath letters were printed.

Now when your application is beyond processing times you can also make e-Request.

For instance in my ROC process I was only 8 days beyond posted processing times and I was able to make e-Request by USCIS website.

Just go to USCIS website where you Check Your Case Status https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do and on the left side of the screen click e-Request.

"E-Request is a (USCIS) web-based tool that allows you to place an inquiry with USCIS You may make an inquiry on selected forms that are beyond posted processing times".

On Sept. 19 I pass the Citizenship exam but I only received recommendation for approval.

Today in email from USCIS about my Case Status Information I got notice:

"Your Case Status: Oath Ceremony

On September 23, 2013, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled...

Naturalization Applicants: you will receive your certificate at your oath ceremony. You can expect to be scheduled for an oath ceremony within 45 days of receiving your recommended approval."

I am so glad this journey is finally almost over!

Even I-94 was very important in my AOS, today in the morning we took I-290 to drive for my interview - ha, ha!

Second wedding is not for us. We prefer spend our money for trips around the US and photography.

I hope that our oath ceremony will be pretty soon. Yes, it will be wonderful relieve that this is all over...

I finished my interview today.

Parking situation: There are few garages walking distance from federal building. I paid 19$ (by credit card) for about 3 hours.

I was allowed to carry water in there.

First on the first flour I was asked for DL and appointment letter to check in. They took my fingers prints and my face picture.

Next on the 3th flour I received a pager and waited to meet with IO. I arrived an hour earlier than scheduled. I got called 30 min after my interview time. Interview lasted about 15 minutes.

I carried bunch of docs as requested but none were asked for. First I was asked to stand up and do verbal oath. IO also asked for my passport, GC, and DL and made a photocopy. Then he started with civics test. IO was kind enough to wait until I figured out the answer. On the beginning my head was empty.

He asked the civic questions:

- Who is the vice president?

- What is the highest court in the U.S.?

- How many amendments does the constitution have?

- What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?

- Who makes federal laws?

Then it was reading (I dont remember) and writing test: Washington is the Father of Our Country.

Next, IO started reviewing the application line by line, asking series of questions from the application itself (address, dob, ever arrested, deported, will you serve the country, etc. yes/no's). At the end he asked me to write my name on the application, sign the pictures which I sent with application, and he gave me a letter notifying that I passed the test. IO informed me that the oath letter will come by mail in couple weeks.

All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. IO was very friendly. I was well prepared with every possible documentation but none was requested. With my application (married to US citizen) I sent a lot of supporting documents. In my interview, it seemed like the IO had already gone through my file and only confirmed my answers with me.

IO saw me in the waiting room with my husband kissing me before interview. In the end of Interview he said: "Congratulation and now You can kiss your husband".
