  1. I have some questions that I need answered. So I am hoping that someone can help me. I am trying to find someone to help me sponsor to get my husband here. And I have asked family and friends and no one seems to want to help me. I was wanting to know how many people can you sponsor at one time if you are already sponsoring someone. And if there is someone out there that would be welling to help me to bring him before Christmas for my kids for there present. I am not going to be able to get them anything else as far as a present. And the thing that they want most of all for Christmas is there dad. So is there anyone out there that would be welling to help me or knowing someone that would help please. We are so close to getting him here that all we need is a joint-sponsor I have talked to an attorney and he told me that he is not sure why I am having such a hard time finding one. No one is going to have to pay anything or loose anything and I have told this to my family but they just don't seem to care. And we really want him home more then anything and he wants to be here so bad to help his family and take care of his family. I have to kids with asthma that I really need help with. So please can anyone else help. Please help me make a Christmas that my kids will never forget.

    Thank you,

    Shannon Aouini

  2. Ok, I was told with the family size that we have which is me and my husband and the three kids that we have to go by a 5 family income which is $32,237.00 a year which that is $2628.42 a month on the income that I need to make. I know that my kids dont have an income. last year with my taxes I made a little over 2,000.00 and with what I made so far this year is a little over 5,000.00 which sucks. So I was told that I was going to have to get a joint sponsor to make up for that income that is needed. When I called NVC they told me that I could have as many sponsors as I needed to get to that income. But when I talked to an attorney they said that was wrong you could only have one. I know that I have to have tax forms, bank statements, letter from the company that i work for, and what ever else I need. He also told me that they there wouldnt be any problems for the joint sponsor for that fact that they wouldnt have to pay anything back. And he isnt understand why I am having such a hard time trying to find someone. And that you can also use, someone that is retired that is getting S.S. and on unemployment. But you cant use anyone that is getting like SSI for income. so when you add the income that is needed. How do you go about it. Do you just what what you have made to what they have made. To get that income for the year or can you had what you also got back on your tax returns also to what you have earned so far this year. I hope you can understand what I am trying to say. So like where I made a little over the 2,000.00 and made so far from work 5,000.00 could I add all of that together and put that down as my income. And then so the same thing with the joint sponsor. Is there anyway that my mom and step father could just sponsor him as a three person. Or would they have had to fill out the paper work to be able to do that. I have asked family and friends to help and no one is willing to help. Granted im not even sure fully if my mom and step dad would for sure or not they said that they might be able to. My step sister in law said that she would she made over i beleive 23,000.00 on income last year. And has worked some of this year. But got laid off. Is there still any change with what she made this year and with her tax return help me also.

I'm sorry but I didn't understand what your question was? Are you questioning what to put down for household size? Your children do not have income, right? So you are using a joint sponsor (your mother and step father ) and you need to provide their income information (tax returns, etc) for the affadavit of support. Can you elaborate on what you're asking about?

  4. How is your co-sponsor making income? What source?

Why doesn't she have to file taxes?

You would have more luck with getting a relative or friend to sponsor you, I don't know many strangers that would do that.

She was working all the way up tell yesterday she is still getting social security when my brother died. And she did file her taxes. And it is a relative also.

  5. I had a sponsor lined up to help us. And she made more then what we needed for income which was good. But can we still use her information even though she isnt working like tax returns and check stubs. If not does anyone know anyone that would be willing to sponsor or help us. I know that everyone on here tries to help each other. But I could really use a sponsor. My husband is a great man and hard working and I know that all we would need is just them signing saying yes they would help...they wont have to pay for anything and not have to worry about anything....

    Thank u

  6. I have a question I have found someone that is willing to sponsor for my husband. And there is like three different I-864 forms which one will they have to fill out and do I still have to fill out and I-864 form also. And also is there any other forms that they will have to fill out also and what all are they going to need.

I have closed my food stamps and medicaid case. But I am living in a low-income subsidized housing is that also going to affect me also.

  8. Anything you do to make yourself look better that falls short of actually qualifying, won't matter. "He" doesn't qualify for Medicaid anyway and won't for some time. Concentrate on a qualified joint sponsor, your evidence of bona fide ongoing relationship and interview preparation.

What about the food stamps how bad is that going to affect him? OR do they count that?

  9. What if you are getting any type of assistance like food stamps and medicaid and you are living in a subsidized housing. I had sent and email to the embassy in Tunis and this is what they said to me.

Your husband’s immigration file is still with the national visa center. They are responsible for collecting the affidavit of support form and supporting documents. We will then review the affidavit of support file once NVC send us the file at the time of the visa interview.

Please note that we will not review your affidavit of support visa e-mail. We will review the Form once sent by NVC, only then the consular officer will make a decision on whether or not additional paper or co-sponsor is required. I advise you to carefully review the I-864 instructions as it clearly explain how to count your household size , incomes that can be counted and co-sponsor. NVC will notify you any way if they need any specific document when you submit your I-864 Form and we will, only at the time of the visa interview, review the form and determine if an additional document is required based on your particular situation.

Please, do not make any arrangement or change in regard of your health insurance , medicaide , low income housing or food stamps as it has no effect on your husband’s file because if your income are under the poverty guideline, you will need a co-sponsor and that’s it .

So as a first step, follow NVC instruction on filing the Affidavit of Support form. We will review your case at the time of the visa interview.

    Sincerely,

    Consular Section

    Tunis, Tunisia

What if I had already closed my cases for my food stamps and medicaid and I am trying to find other jobs to make what I need to make. Is this going to show them that I can start doing this. Granted I know that I am still going to need to have a sponsor also because I am not making the money right now. From what I understand they are telling me not to get off of it. But if we are on this when he gets here and what he uses dont the sponsor have to pay that back also as far as the food stamps even though I do have the choice to put him on the medicaid or not. But I would have to move also to make my self look better also wouldnt I.

  10. We are at the spot that we are going to have to get a sponsor to go any further. And that isn't and easy step on that. And once we get that we can move forward. But my questions are if we cant find a sponsor is there another way we can get him here. And if we cant get it done before the the time period we have to refill out all the paper work and repay everything just to get where we are know. We are at the I-864 and I need to get the 400.00 paid and the 70.00 for the application. And to try and find someone that will sponsor. And then after that is all done and turned in we can move on. But the sponsor part is what is going to kill us. Don't they understand that not everyone can make that type of money in a year.
