  1. I read your story, and showed it to my UKR wife of 11 months. When she came she felt lonely, insecure, but it didn't make her act crazy. I know all people handle stress different but If I were in your shoes I would end it now. My UKR wife agrees as well. If the relationship is not good now, marriage will not fix it. I don't think she's in love with you, and just wanted to get over here. If that is true then maybe she feels guilty with her decision? Her making up reasons to fight to avoid a physical relationship is a huge red flag. Additionally, what happens after marriage? She probably knows the system and before you know it you can be up for domestic violence charges..Whatever you decide I hope it works out for you!

  2. My girl came last month and we are getting married next week in Key West  We will have a formal wedding in the spring, but for now we just want to do this asap. We are completely ignorant as to what steps to take after marriage. We concentrated so much on the K-1 Visa information, and were worried about it, we never looked further. Can someone post the next steps to take? forms to complete, etc..She applied and received her social security card, and that is as far as we have gotten. I appreciate it as we want to do everything without errors, and as soon as possible.

  3. My fiance came though JFK 2 weeks ago. We spend a few days in NYC, then came home to Florida. We noticed on her Visa they stamped "employment authorized". She was told on another forum if you go through JFK they WILL authorize employment immediately, but will not in any other POE. Does anyone have a similar story? We already applied for her SS # this week.

  4. Valeria picked her Visa today at the FED EX in Kharkov. The yellow sealed envelope she received to give to Homeland Security had a cut in the corner like it was cut with scissors. The FED-EX lady told her this is the way they come from the Embassy. Have any one else experienced this? The cut is not large enough to remove or add papers. Thanks...We are officially the "panic couple"

  5. Does anyone know if the embassy checks to match the dependent children you put on the I-134 Affidavit of Support to your tax return?

I ask this question because I have 4 kids. The oldest is always my dependent on the taxes, however I trade the other 3 each year with my ex.

One year she gets 2 and I get one, the next year its reversed. On my 2009 tax return I list 2 children as dependents, so should I list only those two, or all four regardless.

My salary is not a problem if I have to list all four, but we are afraid if it does not match the tax return it may be questioned.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but the interview is next week and we are officially in panic mode.. :bonk:

    Thank You

  6. Valeria passed the physical with flying colors! next is her interview 8/11, however I am confused with the wording regarding translations:

TRANSLATIONS: Documents in English, Ukrainian or Russian do not need to be translated. When you arrive for the interview, you MUST present all the original documents accompanied by an English translation, which is produced by a certified translator, only if the document is not in English, Ukrainian or Russian. After the interview, all originals except the medical examination report will be returned to you. The consular officer has the right to request translation of any submitted document.

First sentence says docs (hers is Ukraine) "DO NOT need to be translated", then it states "you must present all the original documents accompanied by an English translation"

So do we need the docs translated? I appreciate feedback as our day is coming soon, and if we need her docs translated she will have to take a 4 hour train to Kiev, drop off the docs and go back a few days later
