  1. The 5/31/09 edition of the G-325A form had 3 copies in one pdf but the updated 2011 edition only has 1, so it looks like you'll only need to fill out one copy for form I-485.

When was her A# issued? A quick Google search told me that those with 8 digits are the older ones (so the 7 digit ones are way older). Mine actually has 9.

I would say keep it consistent by placing her married name on all forms you will be submitting, especially since that is what you want printed on her green card. You don't want to cause any confusion.

    I wish you luck!

  2. So just to clarify, you both want to permanently settle in California, correct?

The forms that need to be filed are the I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative), I-485 (Adjustment of Status), I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization Document) --> once this is approved, then he can start working while the case is pending, I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record), I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and G-325A (Biographic Information).

You probably would also need to file the I-131 form (Advanced Parole) if he wants to go back to Canada while the case is pending. If everything goes smoothly though, the whole process may not even take 6 months. It took five months from the day I sent in all the forms to the day my green card was approved. I wasn't able to send in the I-864 with the initial packet. They sent me an RFE and it took me 2 months to send it in, so technically everything only took more or less 3 months.

  3. I know I'm probably being paranoid. I know the I-130 has to be approved before the I-485 can go into review, but I'm nervous because I see so many people saying they have received all 3 NOAs.

Is it possible that they would accept the I-130 but reject the I-485/I-765?

My I-485 and I-765 have both already been approved, but the I-130's status has not been updated since December. It still says it's on the second step (Initial Review). Quite odd, their online status system obviously isn't perfect/accurate.
