  1. Received text msg that case has been updated. Looks like hubby's green card was picked up by USPS and should arrive Monday. Filed at CSC and was transfered to local (Texas) in February 2018, I believe. Thank goodness this is almost over. Now to start again with citizenship application (and yes, I know we should have started that a while back, but hubby wanted to wait.) Good luck to everyone!

  2. Hello, everyone! Can someone please add us to the list? Cut it very, very close to green card expiration. Had lots of medical/financial issues going on recently and just procrastinated..but at least it's sent. Sent our package Friday, 2/17/17, using overnight mail cuz I was hoping for 2 things. First, that someone would sign for it Saturday lol (I've seen somewhere before that others had theirs signed for on saturday)...cuz hubby's GC expiration date was Monday, 2/20/17. Second, by it arriving Saturday, and with Monday being a holiday, maybe they would take into consideration the postmark or arrival date and not classify us as late. Been nervous checking to see if the check has been cashed, and it finally was cashed today! So hopefully we will see NOA1 son! Don't be like me and wait til a few days before! So stinking stressful! Filed at CSC.

  3. I'm been following this thread for a while trying to see how fast other NPIW cases have been getting approved since next month it will be a year since we applied. Fortunately, I just received a text this morning, and when I checked our case status, it said "Card in Production"...super happy right now!! ...especially since we hadn't filed for renewal of hubby's EAD/AP and it expires in May, so I was stressing out about both the GC and renewal :)

We sent our papers on March 7, 2014.

    NOA1 - March 13

    NPIW dated June 27

Good luck to everyone still waiting! :)

  4. There is an old law on the Philippines books that requires redemption of American Airlines miles award for flights that originate in the Philippines that only the American Airlines office in Manila can issue the ticket. If you know anything about the politics in this country, you will how that could have been passed. Been on the books since the Marcos era. Crazy. Absolutely. But when you finally get ahold of someone at AA that knows what they are talking about, that is the facts of the matter. I can't find the phone number but I do have the email address. It being the Philippines it is hit or miss if she replies. Her name is Jinky Torres I believe. A google search may provide more information, the office is located in Ermita Manila I believe.

    (salessupport@aamnl.ph)

I can't answer if they will allow you to use miles for another person. The rules are just a little different in the Philippines. I have originated 5 flights with AA miles while in the PH. I was never allowed to book a flight originating in the PH with AA in the USA.

Thanks to everyone for your responses! :)

Just an update...MoJoe1, you are correct...I was told from the AA booking rep that the Philippines is like the only place she knows of that requires the ticket to be issued there. Miles can be used for another person. I was able to hold the itinerary/reservation, but the taxes and fees have to be paid at the American Airlines branch in Manila, located in the Century Park Hotel. I spoke to Jinky multiple times! So when my fiance arrived to pay, she knew all about it hahaha...My fiance paid about P6500, which includes $75 expedite fee for booking less than 21 days before the flights, taxes on the ticket itself (about $30ish), and the departure/travel tax that some pay at the airport if it is not included with the ticket.

Here is a link for the AA Manila branch info, just in case anyone ever comes across this topic in a search and needs this info :)

  5. When I came here, my now husband tried to purchase my airplane ticket with his miles but for sone reason, AA didn't allow him to do it. They told us something like they can only issue a ticket for him not anybody. I think it was a ridiculous excuse so we ended up finding a good deal with my travel agent on a one way ticket (just $250). I hope you have better luck

:( ...you got your ticket for only $250? Wow! I've never seen one for that low ever! The lowest I've seen are about $800. Tickets right now if we have to buy it are, at the cheapest, about $1500. :/

  6. Just wanted to see if anyone out there has purchased your fiance's ticket using airlines miles. Did your fiance encounter any problems at the airport? What documents, if any, were they required to show (your ID, itinerary, etc)? I've read a lot of posts from people who bought tickets using mileage with Delta Airlines, and they said the USC went to a ticketing office here in the states for verification or something. However, I am redeeming miles with American Airlines, so if there is someone who could share their AAdvantage miles redemption experience, it would be greatly appreciated...but anyone's experience/tips are welcome! Thanks in advance! :)

  7. Hi again all. Fiance and I are reviewing for his interview and I was just wondering if there's anyone reading this who has had a k1 visa approval with a cosponsor. What questions were you asked? Where they mainly about your relationship, or did they ask specific questions regarding job/salary of your cosponsor? Just want to cover as many of the possible questions as we can.

  8. Found out Bert passed his medical today! No sputum test...YAY!!! .... He also completed his CFO seminar yesterday. So now he can rest for a day then he will have his interview on Thursday! Thanks for everyone's help so far and also for all the prayers! I pray all of your processes are going great as well. Hopefully I will be able to do a detailed review tomorrow. Good luck and God bless everyone! :)

  9. She's in SLEC right now doing her first day of medical. . Wooop Woooooooooop!!dancin5hr.gif

    Hoping for a smooth process...

Good luck! My fiance did his medical yesterday, and he is currently back at St. Luke's waiting for his results.

  10. This is good advice. I left a credit card with my fiancée at the time on one of my trips over so there would be no hassles with the tickets.

    Best of luck!

This is good advice. I left a credit card with my fiancée at the time on one of my trips over so there would be no hassles with the tickets.

    Best of luck!

Thank you! He completed his medical and CFO seminar today and will hopefully get good results tomorrow from his medical.

  11. Best of luck and prayers for you and your fiance, trupnay5! biggrin.png

Thank you, Erika! Even though he didn't get to SLEC until 5am, he actually finished pretty early..around 9:35am. I was surprised since he was #70 in the "online" line or whatever it is...lol...I suggested he try to do the CFO seminar in the afternoon, and he has successfully finished the seminar! :) Now praying for the results to all be ok tomorrow! Thanks for your help! :)

  12. I will be in Manila tomorrow June 2! I studied in Iligan at MSU-IIT Iliganon bai! biggrin.png Haha! I'll be taking my medical on June 4 though since I still have to wait for some other documents. May God be with us all the way happy.png

Thank you! Maybe you will see Bert tomorrow. He finds out his results in the morning. Hope everything will be ok. Good luck with your medical as well! :)

  13. If you fill in Preregistration online in St. Luke's, yes your fiance will bring 2 copies of the pre registration. St. lukes will send u email after pre registering, you can have it printed. If he did not Preregister, don't worry coz they will give him PDS sheet to fill in..Preregistration online saves time in filling in that PDS sheet..

Thanks for your response. Yeah, right after I posted this question, I filled out the pre-registration...then saw that it said to print. I just had him print out the email. He was able to finish his medical early (by 9:35AM) and now he is currently at the CFO seminar! :)

Good luck with your visa journey! :)

  14. Just wondering if a printout of the pre-registration needs to be brought to the medical...or if there's even an option to print after you click register. Fiance is in Manila right now, and we need to pre-register him, so I was just wondering if I can just do it since he does not have easy access to a computer right now. Thanks in advance for any responses! :)
