We "chased" (haha) a K-1 before, he came on a fiance visa first, and now has a green card.
And, yeah, I'm assuming it wouldn't be fun to apply a second time, and I can understand from their perspective it's pretty annoying for them, though sometimes I feel like countries should have a bit more compassion on cross-cultural families-our world is both countries, and our lives are probably going to reflect that, all the same, I get it.

Hi,
My family and I are moving to my husband's home country. Is there anything we need to do in regards to his green card or anyone we need to contact about the move, besides changing our address with USCIS? We are not sure how long we will be there, but in case it is less than two years for some unknown reason, is it worth it to do a reentry permit?
When we come back to the US for a visit, should he attempt to enter with his green card, or should he just enter as a tourist (we will be returning in June for a wedding, for example)?
If we ever return to live in the states, will we have to began the K-3 process all over again?

Can i also use a personal check to pay the fees of the form and biometrics or whats the best way to do it?
Page 3 of the instructions for the I-751 (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-751instr.pdf) state the following:
You may submit one check or money order for both the application and biometric fees, for a total of $590.
So, YES, a check works
Please note that your filing fee may differ if you have children...

Here's some tips straight from USCIS:
They say you can staple fees but suggest using paperclips for supporting evidence
I don't think they'll turn you away if you staple things. I think we can all agree that paperclips are the easier, less messy solution from the USCIS point of view. And we are, after all, trying to make it easy for them.

Hi, hope the best for you.I think u can just do about bank statement is to send couple of first month and couple of middle then the last month that will be ok.
I also have a question i m done preparing all that paper work all i need to do is to make a cover letter then march 12 i m going to send the package. My question is are we able to use staples or paperclip for the documents? bec i dont want to mess up them

Hi everybody! Gonna be a March 2013 filer for I-751 as well. Got almost everything together here, just saying hello quick!
One quick question on bank statements: I originally submitted a statement signed by a banker that we have joint accounts, will do the same again. Also, I'll include just my last monthly statement. Do you think I should include ALL transactions from the last 2 years? I feel like that would overdo it, but hey, we all know how nerve wracking it is to wonder what and what not to include and whether it was all enough. Any opinions on the amount of financial proof?
I have lease agreements, insurance copies, health IDs, credit cards, joint fishing licenses, photos, tax copies, hotel reservations & bills, flight tickets, photos, letters. I mean, don't they get bored looking through all that?

well, to join the collective singing and dancing: our EAD card production was ordered yesterday as well as the AP approved. I suppose April 28 is everyone's happy day in this forum! Congrats to all of you! Isn't it a blessing to be able to work suddenly?

Our AOS file was transferred to the California Service Center on the 15th. Looks like they're updating everything on the website today. Hoping for an update on our EAD soon, can't wait

I did my biometrics as appointed in Saint Paul today. REALLY simple thing. Got there half an hour early at 8:30 (at 9 the place was decently packed), showed them my appointment and American license for an ID, sat down to quickly fill out the page they gave me. They took the sheet of paper from me, checked if everything was filled in correctly, stamped my appointment letter and sent me off straight to fingerprinting. The room was empty except for 3 ladies, one of which scanned my letter, then had me check my data on the computer and began taking prints of each finger. After that took a picture and I was done. Back on the way home at 9
The place is located in a strip mall-ish place, right between LeannChin and UPS, free parking. The lady and the guy at the front desk were polite and even friendly. The lady taking my prints didn't say a word, the other two ladies were talking about some vacation. When another client came in one of them turned to tell them to wait as she hadn't finished her story yet. Very relaxed experience for me. I guess really early in the morning not a lot of people are there yet and their days haven't been long so they were all fairly nice there

Our reply to the RFE was finally picked up and we're back in the game. They're now reviewing the stuff we sent in. I really hope they're not missing any other things now....

sent the reply to our RFE in today. hoping everything will move without problems from here. And I also saw that the RFE on the AOS does pause the EAD's processing, it says so in the letter we got. So, my question was unnecessary, thanks for answering it anyway frenzyheart

What do you mean? What did they ask for?
We forgot to send W2s for the taxes, a birth certificate of the co-sponsor and the co-sponsor filled out an old form from 2006 instead of the current one. Nothing terrible.
Does anybody know if the RFE for AOS will also put a halt on the EAD?

Hi! We're officially joining the Feb11 filers. Sent our package of AOS, EAD and AP in yesterday.
Had already sent it on the 8th but appearantly USPS's address labeling program changed the address of where the letter went so it was returned as undeliverable since it put a non-existing address on instead of USCIS's which I put on. Extremely annoying as that means receiving EAD 2 weeks later. Thank you USPS for that. And they did it again yesterday, changed the zip-code to something different. They need to re-write that program, mess

Regarding form I-407, is this something that we can wait to do until we've lived in Austria for awhile and have confirmed we wish to stay there for some time? I would hate to abandon his status, and then find out we want to return to the states 6 months later...
