Hi guys,
I am currently on the process of completing my petition for my mother, I have completed the application part (form I-130), and currently on the process of completing the requirements for immigrant visa application for my mom, form I-864. My question is, my mom who is residing overseas is currently on the process of moving to a new residence/address, I am confuse as what or how to update the records on file with the USCIS, should I go file the form I-864 with the updated address of my mom or do I need to fill out something else before sending in these support document forms? please help.

We filed a joint return but I was claimed as a plain house wife. Would it be a problem in my application if I say no?

Hello guys, I hope you could enlighten me with my little query I just have a little doubt answering this part. I am filing based on 3-year eligibility being married to a US citizen, and I have difficulty answering N400 part 11 question 7. I've been here since Feb 2011 and have difficulty finding work since. In June 2013 I have worked for a job which is every week end, and resigned in June 2014, see my former employer did not file a tax for me and Im currently in court battle with my previous employer due to wage issues. But otherwise I was jointly filed by my spouse in his tax returns within that 3 years. What could be my appropriate answer, yes or no? And will it affect my naturalization application process/approval?

They do not normally stamp the passport at interviews. The stamp would act as your temporary I-551 (green card). Maybe they misplaced your marriage certificate somehow. If they did, I am sure all you need to do is give them another one and you will be good to go.
yeah he did misplace our marriage license hehehe ty for the reply

@arkattica i know even the officer said "you thought this interview its going to be tough huh" hahaha

we had our interview today. It took us 20 mins for the interview, the questions were basically about how we met?, how long do we know each other?, stuff like that. by the end of the interview the officer took my EAD card and I-94 and handed me an approval letter saying that my greencard shall arrived within 90 days
BUT the officer did not stamp anything on my passport(what is the stamp for? because i noticed that everyone that got approved has it.) any way im still happy we got approved
GOOD LUCK FOR THOSE PEOPLE THAT STILL WAITING
just be honest on the interview and you will be fine!

hello. we missed to fill out that part at the bottom (name before and after marriage). We already went to have my SSN here in Ca. and the guy there told us that in order for me to have my husband's surname that part should be filled (bottom part of the marriage license), the only thing he was able to do for us is putting my husband's surname after my maiden surname (as he mentioned to us it's his first time dealing with a K1 visa). So now I have a very long name and 2 surnames i guess in my SS. The problem now is were confused whether to use my husbands surname as my surname too and my maiden surname as my middle name through applying for AOS? or do really need to hassle ourselves in applying for name change in court? Need some advice here please. thanks.

When we filled in our marriage license application we left the part at the bottom of the page regarding name changes blank. I would like to take my husbands surname. Is the marriage certificate alone valid to change my name or by leaving that section blank have I made the process longer and more expensive for myself? and Can I use my husband's surname to file for an AOS?

thank you for the reply guys

hi guys. we just got married last week and we're on the process of applying my wife's AOS, we have a question regarding her change of last name. we just noticed on our marriage license that my wifes surname is still same as her maiden name, the clerk just ask us if we want her name changed, we said no, but she didn't explained to us that it includes her surname, we thought once we got married she can automatically use my last name especially when we apply for an SSN, ID and stuff. my question is, when we apply for an AOS can she use my last name in all the application/paperworks she needs to sign up, or does she need to use her maiden name?
