  1. Just wanted to stop by to say congratulations to everyone that is going through this process! It's not an easy one but well worth it once you're finished. This forum has been a great help to my wife and I, and even though I haven't been a good contributor you will find all the information you need to make it happen! Regarding the process...sometimes it feels hopeless, sometimes it feels frustrating, and sometimes you feel the happiness once you move on to the next stage. Thank you to everyone that has helped this community and good luck and best wishes to all :)

  2. My question doesn't seem to be easily answered here or anywhere else that I have read so I will make it as simple as possible...

    My wife and I were married in March of 2010

    She officially became a permanent resident (with 2 year conditional status) as of May 2011

    I am a citizen and have been my entire life, with no travel outside of the US exceeding 10 days

    She will not be traveling outside the US for more than a week or two per year from here on out

    Will we be able to file for citizenship for her in March of 2013 or do we have to wait until May of 2014?

    As I understand it she will have to wait until 3 years from the date that she officially became a permanent resident but it doesn't seem crystal clear...

    Any guidance on this matter, especially if someone else has gone through the same, would be much appreciated!!!

    P.S. The urgency lies in her ability to petition for her mother's citizenship from child to parent as soon as possible.

  3. I have read all the posts about the translation of documents and also using the format below. What I am looking for is feedback from those who have translated their own documents using this format and whether anybody has encountered any problems with this (if you have positive feedback that would be great to hear also.) Your input would be much appreciated...I don't want an RFE!!!
