  1. When I applied for a drivers license I didn't have an SSN either, but they just stated "Needs SSN" on my writing test permit. When I took the test though they said they couldn't give me a driving test permit because I needed my SSN. So you can apply and take the written, but you need the SSN still to take the behind the wheel.

If his local license is still good I *believe* he can drive until the duration of the visa expires. That's what I did.

^ BTW I already have a temporary California license (Im waiting for the card in the mail)-- I didn't need a green card.

  2. Congratulations people! A lot have been approved today I am SO happy for all of you! :) I suppose this is the tsunami huh? Yay! Saw the names early this morning (Manila time) and I wanted to congratulate all of you but I was rushing for work!!!!! :)

Hope the rest of the people on Igor's list get approved soon too. It WILL happen!

Im also saying a prayer for the VSC filers -- Im at least grateful that there's a fairly good amount of action going on in there, they're still just very backlogged. Hang tight!!

From my end, my case isn't at the NVC still. It's been almost a week. :( I got my NOA hardcopy pretty fast though (just 2 days after my email approval!) :)

Let's still keep in touch you guys! We still have to prepare for our interviews! :)

so does this mean Nov 17, 2010 filers like me are about to get our NOA2 soon? OH PLEASE!

    It will come soon! :)

  3. Hello everyone,

We got our NOA2 today too. :) I am SO happy! I checked my email early this morning like I usually do. Nothing there.

After a few minutes I got a text from my fiance saying that our case has been updated! I checked my email again and there it was, saying our petition has been approved! :)

As someone from VJ usually says, you really just have to keep the faith! I was already running late for work earlier but I logged on to VJ anyway to update my timeline because I know a lot of people check Igor's list and an approval really gives some kind of hope to people. I know it did to me -- I always get so happy when I see that there's some progress from CSC. :)

Hang in there fellow November filers, Im still praying for all us! It really isn't too long now! Be on the lookout for texts and emails -- they (CSC) seem to be pretty good at updating now.

  4. Hello everyone! I received my NOA1 on November 16th and have been waiting patiently since. Has anyone used the page below to track how far down the list they are? I can't find myself and was wondering if special steps were needed to show up here. Name is Dustin.

Hi Dustin! You need to fill out timeline for your information to show on Igor's list (that's the list from the link you supplied). Below your name/handle click on "Timeline" and follow the directions. :)

  5. Lord knows I need it. I'm managing fairly well alone, but it would be ALOT easier with some extra hands around here.

Congratulations! :) Wow you're probably the first one from our group! Glad it worked out!

another month down lets hope for some NOA 2 this month.

I just looked at Igor's list and noticed that the movement has slowed down considerably -- I am getting worried. I know CSC and VSC "seesaws" in terms of speed -- I hope they don't slow down just yet! They haven't even really started on October...

  6. Hi, i am so excited to get married but since we dont hav yet our NOA2(october filer) and interview date...then k1 visa..it's hard to make wedding arrangements. .we're just planning to have a (small)civil wedding....i'll just get my wedding dress, shoes, and wedding give aways in my country (Philippines). But one thing for sure the reception will be at Arlington's Inn, i'v seen their website and i love it hehe...i'm so excited lol for the wedding cup cakes,flowers...so excited to shop for my hubby's wedding attire...the waiting is killing me grrrr :) I am so blessed that I've finally found the man that deserves to be my world... :)

The internet is a wonderful thing! I got in touch with vendors first, read up reviews on them, looked for more pictures online. I booked our major vendors sight unseen (eg photographer, florist, invites, make up and hair, calligraphy etc) -- I did my research well, because I loved them all when I met them! Im also very much in love with the Catholic church and reception area we booked when I visited last year!

I agree, most good vendors are booked up to one year in advance if they're in demand, so it might be nice to get in touch with them early on!

Maybe you should have your groom's suit made in the Philippines as well? My fiance got measured for a suit when he visited, he's so happy with it! We looked at suits for him here and we didnt really find something that fit well. Even his shoes are from the Philippines.

Good luck on your wedding planning! It's one of the few things that keeps me occupied while working and waiting for the NOA2! :)

  7. Just wanted to share that I've been here in the US for over a week now on my tourist visa! I went through immigration fairly easily; I travelled with my folks.

The POE officer went through our passports, noticed that I was went in 6 months ago, and asked me what I do for a living. That was it! I carried proof of ties to my country but he didn't ask for them. :)

  8. what concerns me a lot is that people seem to have a BLUE cirlce on one of the grey circles on their status yet mine are all still grey??? my reciept is dated nov 5th and the top right hand corner says "notice-nov 9th" so im pushing 2 and a half months in yet my status has no blue circles and says nothing other than what i stated in my recent post.

All help and advice is greatfully recieved guys :)

Mine is blue on "Initial Review." I'm under impression that you have a NOA1 already? It's so weird how your case status says "processed." I didn't have any E-mail notification though when I got my NOA1 so Im unsure if thats what they usually say.

  9. Wedding date: August 27 2011

I know I'm not supposed to be setting dates just yet however I really am hoping that I could get married on this date -- my brother will be in the US by then (he had to apply for vacation leave early).

Everything is set already (church, reception, makeup, photog, florist, invites, calligraphy) I really am just waiting for my Visa!

I'll be checking in on the vendors again when I go there next month. :) I also need to have my dress altered.
