My mom just called St. Luke's and was told that her culture test result came out negative. The big day will be on October 28th!

My mom's sputum tests result came out negative, and she was told to call St. Luke's on October 5th for the culture result. I have a question, is it true that the medical exam is only valid for 3 months? I thought it's generally valid for 6 months.

hi...just want to ask..after ur mom's 3 day sputum test,,was she ask to return to the clinic? or just to call to ff-up...i'm a bit nervous now... coz after my 3 day test,,they asked me to be back to the clinic on monday, aug 09,,OMG,,is that mean it's positive...
i've never had nor exposed to TB before...and i don't smoke...if i have...my children shld be positive in their TB skin tests but they're not...waaaaaaaa...this is really getting into my nerves.. ...
my mom also was asked to go back on monday (august 9th) at 1:30 p.m. for pulmonary evaluation. keep us posted and we're praying for the best!

My daughter was negative in sputum but positive on her culture test result. She need to stay in Manila for 4 months.I don't know what to do i'm so confused. I need a safe place that my daughter can stay in 4 months while taking her medicine in SLMC. She need to go to SLMC everyday to take the medicine in front of the doctor or nurse. Please advise.
Sorry to hear that. I thought the culture test result will take about 2 months? Don't you have any relatives in Manila where your daughter can stay for 4 months? My mom had sputum tests also, and was told to come back on Monday for Pulmonary Evaluation. It's so hard, especially when you're living outside Manila. The stress and hassle just to go back and forth in the clinic is so tormenting.

No, they didn't ask my mom to go back and do PFT.
BTW, I just received a text from my mom, she PASSED the interview a couple hours ago.
She was told it would take up to 10 working days to get her visa.
Congrats to your mom.
My bad! It wasn't PFT, but it was Pulmonary Evaluation. I bet it must be something about her sputum smear result.

My mom's 3-day sputum tests are over, but she was asked to go back on Monday for PFTs (Pulmonary Functioning Tests). Did your parents (mom/dad) went back to St. Luke’s to do PFTs also after they were done with their sputum tests?
-
Yes, you need to submit original documents and photocopy of the original documents to NVC.
-
8 weeks of waiting for the sputum culture then another week for the new interview date.
Yes, that's what my mom told me. And I'm cool with that. She isn't in a hurry to come over here, though.
-
hopefully she won't be required to undergo the sputum test.
Hi, she is required to do the test.
-
Okay, you guys are not alone. I just called my mom, and she told me that she has to go back at St. Luke's E.C. on August 3-5 for the 3-day sputum test since they found out something on her X-ray result. The thing is; she isn't the only one who needs to go back and do the test. There were quite number of people who went for medical exam that day has to go back for the sputum test, too. Oh, that means her interview on the 6th will be rescheduled on...that I don't know!

his husband ? Oh My. Any immigration issues ?
I think it's just a typo. It should be "her husband".

They can get the marriage certificate from the Dept. of Public Health and Services in Guam. See this link: Guam Vital Records, have them call the office on how to send the certificate to Hawaii.

Okay, I log-in to the immigrantvisas.state.gov website couple of times and it always says "Sign in failed....Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you believe that you have received this message in error." Does it mean my mom's case is complete? Yay!

Same here my AOS checklist response isn't on their system yet. I called them last week, and the operator told me to wait 2-4 weeks for an update.

Good luck. I know your parents can make it. My mom was asked only 3 questions:
1. What's my work
2. Who is Mr. XYZ(my husband's name)
3. My mom's marital status
