  1. Closure of the Immigrant Visa Unit

The Immigrant Visa Unit will be closed for business starting March 4, 2011 at 12:00 noon, until March 8, 2011, in preparation for the move to the new building. This new facility will allow us to serve our customers more efficiently. During the move period, all communication lines (e-mail, fax, and telephone) will be unavailable. Normal hours are scheduled to resume on March 9, 2011.

This will make a mess for a few weeks.

My wife went there today for her interview and they sent everyone home.

  2. Are you saying you got them to reopen the I-129F for spouse and to proceed with the K3 visa process? If so, how did you accomplish this?

I sent an e-mail saying I intend to adjust status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services what would be the K-3 visa. Then a few days later I got a letter saying they closed my 129-F. then a few days after that the NVC sent me an e-mail saying The NVC does not process adjustment of status cases. Then I gave the NVC a call and they told me my wife's address is the same as mine so no need for a visa cuz she is in the US so they closed my I-130 also!!!!!!!! When i told the lady that all the e-mails and letters from the NVC had her address in the Philippines she said no her address is in the US and that was it. Don't piss of the NVC trying for the K-3 visa.

The K-3 is still law but the NVC policy overides the law!!!!! I dident want to fight with them to much just want my wife here so went the CR-1 visa.

  4. They got the K-3 visa wrapped up in so much red tape now best just forget it. They want the Affidavit of Support in place before the foreign spouse sets foot in the USA. They don't like the 1 year and 9 months you had with the K-3. Years ago they tried to make it illegal for a us person to marry a foreign person. Now there trying to scare us out of it with all the laws they put in place. I really wanted the 1 year and 9 months to see how things go when she is here but they took that away from us now!!!!!! CR-1 here i go.

  5. I'll let you know what happens. The letter from the NVC is interesting. On the first page (Before your petition can be processed you must pay the Affidavit of Support (AOS) processing fee) On page #2 (1. If the applicant intends to adjust status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS),

please contact the NVC before making any payments or taking further action.). So there giving me the option of a immigrant visa or a non immigrant visa in those two statements. I'll fight them for a little for the K3 but if i need to I'll give in to there other visa. Ya this K3 visa is a mess now so best just forget it!!!!!!!!!

  6. I second the motion sasha! This woman for sure has her own agenda for being with you. For me, as long as the husband is providing food for the table and providing for the needs at home - that should be enough. Money for shopping is just a bonus. Spending the "discretionary" if I understood the term instantly is a clear indication that she has some other hidden expenses. She is very lucky because the OP is a generous person and she should not take advantage of that. If you buy her a car and she learns her way around, that would lead to a more expensive lifestyle. Husband and wife should be transparent when it comes to expenses. At least that's why I've learned from my parents.

    I love the Philippine woman!!!!!!!!

  7. WOW I diden't say I disagree with NVC. I said I disagree with you on the fact that they will close my 129f. Lets just wate and see how my visa process goes.

Daboys, This thread is still active cuz it says **********"IF"********** 129F and I-130 Petitions Approved and Received Together they will close the 129F. If the NVC does not receive an ******"approved I-130"***** petition and I-129F at the same time, the NVC will process the I-129F petition. So let the 130 die so they prosses the 129F.

That is all I can say. I will let you know the outcome in a few months.
