hi friends,

I have an interview scheduled in Chennai Next Month.Please can anyone let me know like how many copies of mails,chat conversations,phone bills should I carry for the interview ?

Apart from them what else should I carry which will act as an evidence to show how me and my husband kept in touch over the last one year

Is it always necessaary to carry the wedding card? As our social marriage is still pending.We had marriage in temple and then in court with parents and few family members and friends.Will this act as a problem? I however hold pictures of our temple marriage.

Please advise.

Hi,

Please dont rely on what your USCIS account says.It always shows Initial review even though half of ur work gets done at the backend.Well once your I-130 is approved,you will receive a maler from them on your contact mail id that you must have provided.This is the initial step so ut takes a time period of 1-2 months.Neednt worry.The rest of the stuff speeds up later.

NVC said my case is completed on 01/19/2010. Does any body know how long it takes to schedule an interview at chennai, india. Please share your experiences.

Hi,

As soon as your DS 230 and other documents are recieved by NVC and they find no fault with the,they will drop you a mail about your interview date.Your interview date will be exactly one month later from the day you rceeived the letter about your case completion.

I beleive you must drop a mail to the NVC or probably call them to know whats your status?

Hi VJ Friends,

I have submitted my DS-230 and the following civil documents to the NVC.

1.Copy of Birth certificate certified from Notary

2.Original Police clearance certficates

3.Certified Copy of Biographic page of passport

4.Certified copy of Marriage certficate and

5.Photographs

After 15 days I have received a letter from NVC asking for the original marriage certificate only.

The very next day I have sent them the same too.

What is going to be the next step now from NVC? Should I get ready for interview?

Or is there anything else that is still pending from NVC? If they have only asked for the original marriage certficate,does that mean they have given clearance to the other documents?

I am just too curious!

Hi,

For my Birth Certificate,I got original one from the Municipality. And I also attached a translated version certified by the Notary.

The translated version need to include the following statements:

"The translation is accurate and the translator is competent to translate."

please refer to link http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html where its quoted as below:

All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the:

* Translation is accurate, and

* Translator is competent to translate.

Thank you Friends! Now I actually understood what the NVC meant.I misinterpreted the message I beleive.

Anyways,my husband is ready with Joint Sponsor form and will be posting it.

Hi Friends,

Our Affidavit of Support got rejected as it didn't meet the minimum income requirement according to the

current poverty guidelines. NVA has asked to send additional Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) for a

Joint Sponsor to the National Visa Center to assist in sponsoring the intending immigrants.

NVC letter quoted below:

" The NVC has received the information you have submitted in reference to

the Affidavit of Support. Please be advised that you, as the Petitioner, do

not appear to meet the minimum income requirement according to the

current poverty guidelines to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) for this

petition. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this

requirement at the time of your interview. In order to avoid delays, you

may wish to submit an additional Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) for a

Joint Sponsor to the National Visa Center to assist in sponsoring the

intending immigrants. "

If anyone has faced this or have any idea ,please can you let us know if your original petitioner doesn't get approved do we have to send them another affidavit of support from main petitioner and also from joint sponsor (together in one) or just joint sponsor is fine now?

Hello:

I e-mailed chennai consulate about sending packet 3 as soon as they have the case from NVC.

My e-mail:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

I filed for K3 visa for my husband. I would like to know if my husband could send the packet 3 application and checklist to the consulate as soon as we confirm with you the recepit of our case from NVC at your office"

Their reply:

"We dont require anything to be sent in advance for the K-3 visa, we will schedule the appointment as soon as we receive the case here."

,

So, I guess we will get a interivew letter, hopefully as soon as they revieve the case from NVC.

Hi All,

I was just trying to collect all possible stuffs that I need to carry with me for the Visa Interview.

I got married last year but it wasn't a social marriage.We had very less time so only my parents and my husband's parents were there for the formal temple marriage followed by the court marriage.2-3 close friends of my husband were also present as witness.

So we just have very few pictures say some 10 pics.But the pictures are very much evident of our wedding.

I was wondering if the count of pictures really matters and if the Counselor will be satisfied enough with them?

The social marriage is planned after I get my Visa,so we don't have any wedding card as well.

Can someone let me know what are the important stuffs that I need to carry in the above scenario?
