  1. If you go to a job interview, and you feel all went well, they usually conclude it by shaking your hand and tell you that you'll hear from them. At best they would tell you that they are confident that you'll be the man for the job. Would you at that moment ask for a pay advance?

Same with immigration interviews. It may go well, they may even tell you that all looks good and you'll hear from them. Would you then and there ask for an I-551 stamp?

I wouldn't ask for a payday advance, and I wouldn't ask for a stamp allowing me to leave the US as soon as possible, before I'm even allowed to stay.

Sorry, but I wasn't really asking what you would do, I suppose that depends on me, and I didn't affirm that I was asking for the stamp on my passport. " I was asking if there were chances of them doing so".

    Thank you anyway.

  2. Hello Everyone,

I have a question yo you guys, and I would be very thankful if you could help!!

I received the letter for our interview that is scheduled now on August, and we're already planing our official wedding which will be in Brazil, but of course, if everything goes well in the interview.

Now, my question is, if I get my passport stamped at the interview, could I travel? My husband is hesitating a little bit about that and he doesn't want to carry on with the wedding plans for September because he doesn't want me to be frustrated if that is not possible.

Does anyone know if we could travel without the green card in hand, just with the stamped passport?

And at the interview, do you guys have any advice to give us? We're positive that everything will go well, but just the basic such as, what to wear and what do they usually ask, and what should we bring with us?!

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer!

P.S: Just one thing I have recently figured out. If you're waiting on a letter on something and if you are constantly checking your status on the USCIS website, don't! I checked mine almost everyday and no changed has been made, but even though I have received my interview letter. I guess this means they don't really update the status that often anymore.

    THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH!!!

    :)

  3. Well the date is really relevant right now.

Usually it will take from 3-6 months, but it really varies from case to case.

You will have to wait now for the Biometrics, on the letter that they'll send you it will say where you have to go.

What they are going to do to you when you go get your biometrics done is just get your fingerprints, and that's it.

After that you'll be waiting for your work permit and your interview date.

I have taken my Biometrics but I am still waiting for for work permit and interview date, it really takes a while.

There's nothing else to do right now. but wait.

    Good luck!!!!

  4. You should not be worried about time at this point.

Well, for me it took about a week or two, but REMEMBER that ALL THE CASES ARE DIFFERENT.

I have not received anything after my Biometrics, and I was not quite worried but I was

impatient, and today I received a message that said that "Time is the game now, there's

nothing else to do but to wait".

Cases are different, and it can take from 1 week to a 1 month, relax..

I wish you the best of luck.

  5. I received my interview notice 2 weeks after biometrics. My EAD was approved exactly 1 month after biometrics, but I received the actual card after 6 weeks.

Check your status online to see how it's moving once a weee; usually you get updates the day of biometrics and the day after or just the day after.

    Good luck!

Thank you so much for the information!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't tell you how much better I feel!!

    Grazie!

    -Alektra

In our case, it was a little more than a month for approval after biometrics. Then we received the card shortly after that. Good luck!

Thank you very much!!! = )

  6. Each case may be different and also depends whether your case was transfer to CSC or not, even this may not have a much greater effect on your timing. In theory, after biometrics you are closer to the last steps but it could take from a month or 2, we all hope in receiving at least the AP/EAD a couple of weeks after biometrics but as I said before, is different for everybody. In my wife's case, she never got her AP or EAD until after she received her GC.

Read closer the your month trade and that will give you a much better idea since you will see other peoples cases that have file at the same time..

    Good luck

Thank you very much for the information you provided me, it makes me feel better about the timing of all this.

I am just not patient at all, I haven't been back home it's been 6 years, and I miss it very much, I am counting down these

    3 months.

I have a question to you..

You and your wife never went for an interview? Because as I was analyzing your timeline I never saw an interview date on it.

I wish you the best of all, thank you so much!

  7. Hello my lovely people..

I have a question for anyone that has experienced what I am going through right now...

I have just gotten my biometrics taken here in Jacksonville FL, and I filled my AOS

    to Chicago..

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to receive anything after the Biometrics?

I am thinking here that I should be expecting my Work Permit, but I am not sure what to expect,

and what worse than that, "HOW LONG TO WAIT" for anything...

How long does it usually take to receive something after the Biometrics?

I know you all have gone through this, but I am just home all the time and I can't work..

Please, help me by telling me how long does it usually take to receive everything up until the Greencard..

Thank you so very much, I love you all..

    May God Bless you... (F)

  8. FRIENDS,

Whenever I am aware of my marriage interview date, and If everything goes well, what are the chances that they will stamp my passport, even though, again, I overstayed 4 years on my B2(tourist) visa before I got married? Could they still stamp it? And in my case since I overstayed, would this affect the waiting period of my Green card? I see that nowadays people receive theirs within days or a few months after the interview. Is that really possible, could that happen to me?

If not, could I ask the immigration officer about any possibility of getting my passport stamped in order for me to leave the country for my honeymoon in Brazil?

If none of this is possible, do you know how long would I have to wait for my green card?

At least I will be able to make other plans for my honeymoon inside the U.S.!!

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH GUYS.

    YOU HAVE BEEN GREAT!!

    THANK YOU!!! (F) (F) (F) (F) (F) (F) (F) (F) (F)

  9. Friends,

On my previous topic, I asked if I could travel with an advance parole even if I had overstayed my B2 visa, I had explained that I got married and me and my husband wanted to go to Brazil for our honeymoon. Well, thank you everyone for providing me such great feedbacks, and making me cautious about it, saying that it will be better for me to stay until I receive my GC. We will do so.

Now, I have another question. Please, if you know it, answer me, I would be very grateful to you.

Whenever I am aware of my interview date, and If everything goes well, what are the chances that they will stamp my passport, even though, again, I overstayed 3 years on my B2(tourist) visa? 10. Hello there, first I would like to Thank you very much for taking the time to read my topic and help me, may God Bless you!

I am a B-2 visa holder(Tourist visa) I got a 5 year visa, although I exceed my stay in the U.S which was of 6 months, I have been here for 4 years and a half already,of course illegally. But I am now married to an American citizen and, my husband and I are going to apply for everything I need for my adjustment of status. But here's my question:

Since we have recently gotten married we would like to go to my country for our honeymoon, can we apply for an Advance Parole for me even though I was in this illegal situation? If I apply can I get an Advance Parole approved even though I was illegal? If so, how long does it take the whole process?

I thank you so much for helping me, and I will always do my best to help you guys if I can.

    Thank you!
