  1. I had my biometrics done a few weeks ago and today I called USCIS to check on the status of my case. The USCIS rep says the case has been transferred to National Benefit Center. When I inquired about what that means, they couldn't give me a complete answer.

So can someone help me here, does anyone know what the National Benefit Center is and what happens next in this process?

I-485 was sent to chicago box office.

  2. RE: AOS - I'm self-employeed, I file my own Business TAXES, will sending in Copies of 2007 thru 2009 Business TAXES be enough or is it better to get IRS tax transcripts etc?

  3. For the Adjustment of Status, do we send in the Original Signed G-325A Biographic.. PLUS 4 Copies of that ? Do I also have to duplicate copies for forms 485, 693, 864, 1145 ?

  4. For those who used the I-693 Report of Medical for transcription only, did your Doctor fill out ALL 6 pages or just a few of the pages? I had my Vaccination done in Canada and now I'm filling out the AOS, they need the I-693 filled out, however my Doctor will only fill out some of the pages and not all. is that normal ?

  5. We got approved at 11:30am. yaaah!!

You know, I think that it really doesn't matter where you cross... I'm sure staff move around a lot from border stations to another... You just have to make sure they do what is needed for your AOS after... I posted a question on here, as to what exactly you need to make sure they do at POE... Look it up, I got great answers... And worse comes to worse, you'll probably have a little wait if someone doesn't know what to do exactly and has to ask someone else...

  6. okay so my fiance is nearing her K1 interview in Montreal. I just realized that they want some Passport + One Copy of the biographical. However my Fiance is _NOT_ a citizen of Canada, she landed there as a Refugee. She does however have a Canadian Travel Document(blue) which she paid for in January. Seeing that she can't get a Canadian passport unless she's a citizen, so next best thing was Travel Document

so.....Do you guys think Montreal will make a big deal about this??

  7. I've read a few stories where some people have crossed and were stopped at the border. These same people ended up going to their K1 interview's and having to explain to the CO why they were stopped at the border. Usually the CO will put this sort of thing into consideration and it will likely go into Administrative Processing where the CO investigates the situation to make sure nothing more occured at the border. All in all it causes more grief then its worth sometimes. Just know that if your stopped at the border, you'll end up having to explain it to the CO at the time of interview -which may or may not go into AP. if it goes into AP, your wait time will feel like an eternity. I know it sucks, but that's procedure here.

    Thanks so much you guys!!!

So I'll just say I'm going to visit my fiancé for 5 weeks and leave it at that. I'll bring my whole filing thingy in case they ask for something, but my gut feeling tells me everything will be ok. I haven't been to the States since November 2009 so...

    netguy,

I admire your positivism, but right now, I think there's no telling when the next interviews will be scheduled, and for what month, thanks to Montreal's lack of reliability! But I hope you're right! :star:

  8. August interview's should be coming around June 28th week.

    Good Morning!

So is there anyone that knows which department (DOS or NVC) could confirm to me that we are allowed to travel to the US while waiting for a K-1 visa? I want to know just in case I get drilled bad and then I can say: 'well a lady at ... told me I could!'

Thanks and have a good weekend everyone!

  9. Well one thing that's changed is that their Grandma is being left behind in Canada - she will not be attending the wedding in USA. So on their next visit to interview date, it shows the consulate officer that they will be returning back to Canada to take care of their grandma. she has no one in canada. is that not enough strong ties showing them they are returning back for someone ?

Nothing to stop them re-applying, just pay the fee.

Having been denied and no material change in their circumstances, the odds are of course low, but not zero.

  10. My Fiance has family in Canada and we are trying to get them to come to the USA for a 3 day B2 tourist stay. The reason for the tourist stay is we are trying to make a wedding happen in October. My Fiance also has her Aunt in the USA who is a US citizen.

My Fiance's family holds a Canadian Permenant Resident card, they only landed in Canada about 1 year ago and they are considered Refugee's. They rent an apartment, the father goes to school and works in Canada, The mother goes to school only, and the little 16yr old sibling goes to school as well. They have a Grandma too staying with them, However due to health reasons she is staying behind in Canada and not coming to the wedding.

What is the best approach in getting them down to USA. should her Aunt request for the 3 of them to visit USA and if so what Forms are required?

  11. Alrighty the longest among us has been waiting just about 47 days....we're running about 4 weeks notice for interviews possibly right now. Which means time will go even faster, right? :hehe:

Yes 75-102 days max after P3 is logged. I suspect everyone between april 16 thru may 20th will be done with their interview by no later then August 1st. So 8 weeks from now we should all be done :).
