In the instructions for filing I-864 AOS it states that the USCIS does not charge a fee but the department of state charges a $70 fee if filed domestically. How do I pay this fee? If I am filing sith a joint sponsor do I pay double the fee ? Anyone know the answer please help !!!

Check 8 and check yes.
Which parent is joint sponsoring? What form are they using? Are they household members?
My Father is sponsoring. He is also using I-864 and he is not a household member.

So what then do I check for #8? Only " I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in part 2 above" ? Do I also need to check the " Yes" box ?
Thanks a ton for all your help

Thanks again push. I've got one more question for you...why is the language they use in these documents such an enigma ??? Just kidding. The real question is on which box to check concerning joint sponsorship. #1 (d) says "I am the only "joint" sponsor" and (e)states " I am the ___ first ___ second of two joint sponsors." The way I read it is "joint" means two so if there were a second "joint" sponsor there would be 3 of us ??? Or would I be the first joint sponsor and my parent be the second ??

If my parent is going to jointly sponsor my wife's petition AOS with an additional form i-864 do I count her on my i-864 as a household member? Does my parent count her as a household member? Or both ?

My wife is filling out her form i-485. In 2008 she applied for and was turned down for an E3- Skilled Worker visa. On form i-485 a question asks if she has ever filed for permanent resident status. Does the E3 application count? Should she answer yes or no to this question ?

My wife and I were married a month ago in the U.S. We are going to file an i-130 and i-485, etc. for adjustment of her status. My income does not meet the guidelines but my parents have agreed to be a co-sponsor. The language in the instructions for form i-864 says joint sponsor "in the same household". What does this mean? If my parents do not live with us they cannot be joint sponsors? Can someone please explain A.S.A.P.

I am filing the I-130 and I-485 packets concurrently. Do I need to double up on documents such as the G-325A or the copies of marriage certificate so that there is one in each packet or can I combine the 2 packets and send them as one submission?
