I was in Ghana in November and visited the Embassy. I was told there was nothing we could do but wait. Also had my Senator look into the case and he received a letter with the same information. They say it could take months or years to complete AP. The only thing I am going to do is to send an inquiry email to the embassy every 30 days just to be sure we didn't miss a communication. All of our documentation was perfect. Interview went well. Just something we are not aware of triggered a need for additional background checking. No return date given because they have no idea how long the background check will take. They will call us when they are finished.

AP - administrative processing. It can happen at the NVC stage or the embassy. Usually if it happens at the NVC stage they are doing a background check on the petitioner. When it is at the embassy it is usually about the beneficiary. It is not done on all beneficiaries - they don't really tell you why they are doing it. All of our paperwork was fine and his interview was fine. They said they want to do background check so we have no return date. They said they would call him. So - back to the waiting game.

There is a large group of people who have been praying consistently for the last 3 weeks. We will keep those prayers going until our entire group has received their visas. So far, 2 have been successful and 8 have interviews next week! We have all been waiting so long in Ghana. It is now our time for victory! God is Good!

Please keep us in prayer as we are praying for everyone else to successfully make it through this process. It is such torture waiting to see what will happen on the day of the interview.

Most of us never need a copy of a tax transcript - I never heard of it either until the visa process. It is a line by line report of your tax return. It is more official than you just providing a copy of your tax return because a copy doesn't mean you actually filed it. With Ghana being one of the high fraud countries you need to give them everything from the most official source available. Ghana definitely will only accept tax transcripts while some other embassies will accept a copy of ...

You know that is the scripted response they give everyone - I believe it is just the max time it should take. Which means it could be resolved sooner. Every few days just check for the SIF because it is coming. But I do know how you feel- I am amazed how strong our love is to help us survive through this tough journey. We still have some time to go after the case closes - but, we will get there. First - we need your case to close dagnabit!!!!!!!

I like that positive thinking girlfriend! That's is a very productive way to spend some of the waiting time plus shopping is fun! Wish we could do it together.

I don't want to get too caught up in dreaming of what I want to happen. I am going to go by what I see - based on what we see I am focusing on the possibility for 2012. If we get a miracle and things move faster that will be a welcomed blessing. For now, I have to stayed grounded in the reality I see and trust in whatever plan God has for me and my husband.
