    J1 HRR Waiver Timeline
    2004/10/12 Mailed J1 Visa Waiver application.
    2004/11/02 Received instructions and case number from DOS.
    2004/11/04 Mailed request for no objection statement to German embassy.
    2004/11/10 German embassy sent statement to DOS
    2004/12/07 Sent personal statement of reasons to DOS
    2004/12/30 DOS has still not received statement from German embassy.
    Sent fax to waiver review board. Answer via E-Mail within a couple of hours,
    confirming that statement has not been received.
    2004/12/31 E-Mail to German embassy, asking to send statement again.
    Multiple phone calls, faxes, E-Mails in January to get form to the right place in DOS.
    _All_ diplomatic notes for "no objection" have to be sent up to four times by the
    German embassy until they reach the correct destination within DOS.
    2005/01/26 No objection statement finally received at DOS, waiver review board
    2005/01/28 Favorable recommendation
    2005/02/17 Waiver from USCIS
