  1. Hi!

I got my EAD card last week 01/05, my AOS status online now says that it has been approved on 01/11 and is now in the card/document production stage. I applied for my SSN yesterday 01/12 and we were given and letter that says that they need to verify the documents I presented and it will take up to 4 weeks. Does it really take 4 weeks? Is it better if I had waited for my green card before I applied for the SSN? or is it the same processing time using EAD card or SSN card?

    Thanks in advance!Ü

  2. We were turned down initially. We went there 8am and it was busy! The man who assisted us said if we cannot make it on our scheduled date then we have to reschedule, I was sure we can't so I said I will reschedule. He took the letter and said that we will receive another appointment letter. We were about to go home but I thought I didn't make a copy of the letter, so I went back to get the letter and tell them that I will just mail it in. The man asked if we can make it after lunch, he asked us to go back 1:30 PM and so we did!Ü Zero people in the afternoon, so if you want to try you might want to go there around 1-2 PM.Ü

  3. Thank you for the replies!

I am sure I am typing it correctly, I am just copying and pasting it from the email I got, I also tried to manually type the numbers and it is still not working. None of the three MSC numbers are working.

Yeah, I've read that there are instances that cases don't appear online, I hope mine is just delayed.Ü It sucks not to be able to check it online, sigh. :(

  4. Hi Everyone!

Im just wondering if anybody has a recent experience about walking in for biometrics in the St. Paul, MN USCIS office. I am convincing my husband to walk-in on Wednesday. He refuses to go and said that we may not be accommodated if it is not our scheduled appointment or if we will, we may have to wait for hours. But so far, I have not seen anybody turned away or waited hours.Ü

  5. Hi!

I arrived in the US July 20th. I didn't apply for a SSN right away because I read in previous threads that it is more convenient to apply for a SSN after marriage because I don't have to request for a name change. Now we are married and received our marriage certificate, I can no longer apply for a SSN bacause my visa is expiring Oct 20th (I am now within the 14 days before the visa expires). When can I apply for a SSN? My husband cannot enroll me on his medical insurance or name me as beneficiary of his life insurance because I dont have a SSN yet. I am also concerned that I won't be able to work even if I get my EAD because I don't have a SSN (or should I be able to apply by then).

  6. yay! replies! yes, he is meeting income requirements so we won't include the house.Ü

And yes, ex is already a US citizen. Since she is we don't need to worry about that? (I still worry though because Ph is high fraud country and he has already filed previously) Super thanks for the replies! :D

  7. Hello!

My fiance and I are filling out form I-134 and we have two questions:

on part 7, "I own real estate valued at" Do we still need to fill this out even if mortgage is more than the house is worth and on the process of selling the house?

    and

on part 9 "I have previously submitted affidavit of support for the following person(s)"

He submitted and affidavit of support 8 yrs ago for a previous marriage. Will this affect our application in any way? Does the income requirement increase because technically it is for two people ( I think I read somewhere that he is still resposible for ex-wife). And ex-wife now has a stable job and supports herself?

    Thanks!
