  1. Hello All,

Does anyone know how many days we need between the medical and interview? We are trying to work out the schedule so that we save as much money on hotels ect. as possible. Thank you.

    hi,

usually the appointment letter is received by applicant 4 weeks before the interview date, this means you have 3 to 4 weeks to have your medical exam. no appointments at st. lukes, it's first-come first-serve m-f 8a-4p. good luck.

  2. friends,

my status in the online receipt page for aos payment says "PAID" although i have'nt paid the iv fee yet as i'm still waitng for the iv bill notice.

in the affidavit of support processing instructions, it says:

Warning: Do not take any action described above without authorization from the NVC. Taking action without the NVC's authorization could result in a delay in processing.

some went ahead in the steps even without the authorization, some waited. there was even a case where someone waited for authorization for 4 weeks only to end up hearing from nvc that he just had to do the instructions by downloading the necessary forms and following the other next steps.

can someone share their experience on this issue? we don't want to waste time. thanks a lot.

  5. No, I mean the US Dept. of State, specifically a Consular officer would order any "further" background checks. NVC does a final name check as well. NVC is also DOS.

    hi pushbrk,

my spouse had sent back the ds-3032 (he made me his agent) as i've also paid the aos fee. we expect the ds-230 in the next few days. i just want to know how the nvc does its background check in manila (i.e. for my spouse's birth, marriage, employment, children's birth cert.

  6. Good day to all! I've seen how VJ is helping many people in their respective cases so I thought of joining you here. Our case is already in the Post-Decision (2nd to the last circle) as shown in the USCIS My Case Status. I've already received the NOA2 (approved petition for my spouse) and I understand that the next steps would be taken care of the NVC and the US Embassy Manila.

Would there be another background check (similar to the Initial Review - 2nd circle in the USCIS My Case) by the US Embassy Manila when the papers are already being processed in the Philippines? Or everything has been checked already in Manila during the Initial Review?

Thank you and Happy Easter to everyone!
