At the toronto airport, CBP officer placed a stamp on my passport for one year temp residence and told me that I should be getting green card in the mail and allowed to work.

I went yesterday to social security office to apply for SSN so I can find work. they told me that now it is automatic, once i was entered US, the paper work which CBP did also inlclude application of SSN. So I should wait 5 weeks, if not received then shall apply. IS that true??? is that happen with somebody else as well???

Hi All - Does Canada Post make deliveries on Saturday in Brampton area? I am expecting passport which was mailed out today at 9:00 am from montreal and wondering when I will get it. the tracking number only shows that Montreal post office received the package at 9:00 am today.

Boarding pass from return trip (if she flew) would be a good item.

Unfortunately, people have waited many weeks for approval after submitting documents after interview, some up to 12 weeks. Takes them a long time to get to mail.

Well, Thank you for the input. she was immigrant to canada and was living in home country till the age of 20. She crossed the border by car with her sister from BUF so no boarding pass available. As she could not find the job and taking care of our little daughter (US Citizen), I was bearing all her expenditure. So I gave consulate now: Her bank account and credit card statements showing she took out money at ATMs with TD in Canada, she visited doctor 4 times, so a letter from doctor verifiying her visits. I visited her three time so my copies of passport with stamps of visits. She lives with her sister so there is no lease. According to visa officer something to show that she stayed in canada will work. So that's is all I submitted.

But if they would have asked this police report and all these proof before interview, this would saved atleast three months. Now I am hoping after sending all papers in little bit more than a month we will get the visas. Hopefuly will have no further issues.

I had a horrible experience. There is something hidden here its not black and white as it seems to be.

It takes two months to get to the interview day from your last paper work. Even though I took all the documents mentioned in the check list, in the interview they asked police report for other country where my wife lived for short time as well. Again, this police report was not listed in the check list documents which we were asked to bring in on interview. Well why not????? The visa got pending until we submit one. This wasted my two weeks to get one. Then I fedexed and its going to be two weeks now since MTL received and guess wt no news. I heard it takes two months to get the visa after extra documents is received. Horrible.

Also, my wife visited me couple of time but upon return to canada they did not placed the entry stamp. So now the consulte is asking for prove that she returned on time and did not overstayed. Well, If Canadian CBP is not doing job why we get punish? so I have to submit the documents as a proof. Even all documents are recevied its been two weeks no news. DOS tell me they have issues with mail. We paid that much money and our families are waiting. If MTL can not handle then why not open this immigrant visa on other consulate? or hire more staff. Wt DOS is doing to fix this problem.

hi, It is been more than a week that we have sent the requested police report with passport to consulate after interview and did not hear any thing yet.

I have seen people said they called DOS to find out status when their visa is under review? which number I should call to check the status?

should i email consultate to see the update? is that gonna pissed them off? guyz help. i don't know wt to do.

We had an interview with MTL and they asked for police report from another country at which my wife lived after 16 yrs of age and proof that she was living in canada as she visited quite a few times to US. Once Canadian Custom did not stamp her passport. So we have collected the evidence and going to fedex with police report and passport.

They already kept the return envelope and took the finger prints and said when they will receive these requested doc they will review and issue visa.

The question is do any body know noramlly once requested documents submitted after interview how much time it takes to complete review and issue visa? We really can't wait months and hoping it will be within a week. is that a good assumption. Anybody any experience one plz help

We have interview this week and I just found out that my wife birth certificate is original but the english translation is photocopy I mean the attestation signature copy is copy not wet attested signed. Is that acceptable or we need to get that attested again. Please please please help.

Helloo Guyz, Just planning and wannna make sure everything is done properly. Question: Do they allow spouse to go along with wife inside? wt is the best way of taking all the orignal papers go through easily? Bag? file? our appointment is at 8:00 AM on July 20. What time we should be out side in the line to get the things done fast? How much time it takes to get interview done? Is there a choice to pick up the passport rather than mail out? I don't mind staying couple of days more and then pick it up rather than email. Thanks.

I am wondering if we still have to pay the immigrant visa fee at the time of the interview. I thought we are done with all the fees. If yes then how much it is? what they accept, cash, check or credit card? US $ of Canadian $.

There are parking lots all over, I used the underground parking in the mall across from the Travelodge, in the Complexe Desjardins.

Parking is going to run $20-25 because you want to be sure you have enough time to deal with the embassy in the morning.

At the Embassy they will tell you that it will take up to 2 weeks to get sent back, so plan for that IMO.

Are you flying to California from Toronto?

I am renting car from Toronto to montreal. Air is expansive. I am talking about once visa done to come back to USA. The change fee is $75 later. So how many days acutally it takes to get back. If I buy a return after a week of interview is that enough?

1. I do not know, sorry, but as Wishing mentioned, you can get a titer test to find what immunities your wife has.

Some people get lucky and they can pick up their visas same day, from what I have seen in VJ this is quite rare. Others will be in a better position to give you info on how long it may take you to receive your visa after the interview presuming there is nothing additional requested.

You may be able to get vaccination records through public health if this was recorded....

Also you can go to a physician (walk in clinic) and ask for a titre blood test to check for various antibodies to vaccinations. This may help, but I'm unsure if you can do/get titre's for all vaccinations....

We checke the blood test but that does not cover all and takes about 3 to 4 weeks for result. Also, what you guyz think I should buy a ticket. You know this is summer and tickets are getting really expensive If i buy now it will take $75 change fee.

Hi, My wife is schedule for medical on June 18, 2010 at toronto. While making an appointment the person told her to get the vaccination done by her family doctor. As my wife does not have any vaccination record. She was landed immigrant in 2005. She submitted the vaccination reccord to Canadian embassy but she never kept the record. Her family doctor is asking for a letter or form kind of that which vaccination is she getting.

Now the question are:

1. Is there any way to get her vaccination record through canadian immigration?

2. from where she will get a form/letter telling showing which vaccination actually she needed?

Also, do any knows if Embassy give visa same day at Montreal? I want to buy the air tickets and not sure if I should wait and buy after her visa issue. what you guys suggest?

two simple question looking for input!

1. After log in fails how much time it takes to get interview date? Loged in Fail date is May 12, 2010

2. Do we need to wait for any paper work for medical or we are supposed to go ahead and schedule the medical with out interview date? If yes then what is the procedure? Is medical appointment at Toronto also backloged? or we can get the appointment easily? Appointments available on Saturday?

It took us about 15 business days. So when you say two weeks that is about 10 business days. But once you get confirmation email, then it is very fast. So this is the time you prepare all your documents. pdf and get it ready. May as a draft email. The day you get confirmation send the email same day. Get police report, photographs, marriage certificate, birth certificate, tax returns, job verification letter READY. Once you got confirmation then it will be delay on your side, unless you have everything ready to go. After confirmation, the total process takes 5 business days, only if you are READY.

You should complete a signature time line plus a VJ timeline...

YES.. You can start if you are US Citizen then file for Fiance K1 visa. For spouse visa you guyz have to be married.
