we sent our petition on 3rd Mar, the cheque cashed on 5th Mar. their approval received on 30th Jun and then a notice of transfer on 30th Jul. we surprisingly found that they have changed our place of itnerview from Abu Dhabi (UAE) to Ankara (Turkey). After our follow up embassy replied that we have to send other documents via UPS and we did so. then there was an e-mail to my fiance that the interview is scheduled for 7 months later. they received the package on 18th Aug and fixed the interview for 23rd Feb.

Sorry, Maybe you should write to the embassy and ask them. I heard that someone submitted the email to get an earlier interview date if reasonable . Good luck

I don't know which country you are in but for my case I got interview date 10 weeks after packet 3 is received by consulate .. since my first apply date has taken 8 months from NOA 1 date

I am the one of who has that problem. Now I just got my interview scheduled but in last month I got a really great job, well it's a job of my dream( Being a PA for Managing Director for global company) so now I have been considering that I would rather taking this job to make my career than going there to get married as the reason that my fiance still has to go to school for another 3 years. Am I in sane. I would like to cancel my visa if it got approval. Or what else I can do?

I am Kai , Thai citizen who is waiting for my fiance visa.

Unmarried Certificate : she doesn't need it as she has been married but she has to proof the termination of previous marriages (Final divorce decree or annulment ) to the embassy on her interview date.

Birth Certificate : If an official birth certificate is not obtainable , present the best possible secondary evidence, such as a family register along with an ID card , a baptismal certificate, hospital certificate , school records, and/or a notarized affidavit from your parent.

Hi was wondering, I went to india and got married, I have a marriage certificate. but i want to use K1 visa and bring my spouse over on a finance visa, can i still do that? Do they check if im married in India? let me know.

Hi, as same as my case, we would like to have a wedding in Thailand before we will have another one in USA but we couldn't do that cuz once you got married and have your marriage certificate you have to fill K3 Visa ( married visa ) instead then your K1 Visa will get refuse because you have filled the wrong application as they will check you marriage background as in Thailand I have to show them the unmarried Certificate to show them that I have never been married before.

Hi everyone! We would like to get some help since we are about to fill out petition.

After 1 year & 6 monhts of relationship we got engaged 11 days ago . We are trying to gather all necesary evidence and information to fill out the papers and make sure we dont leave anything out.

We have been reading a lot in other topics and have found advice on what kind of evidence would be relevant. like:

[*]Passports stamps

[*]Boarding passes

[*]Hotel receipts

[*]ATM receipts

[*]receipts of other expenses in the foreign country

[*]Photos (labeled)

[*]vaccination supplement and medical copies

We also have records of the times he has sent me money and of course tons of pictures.

We met during a visit he made to the company I work for for some training. He was here for 21 days that time and after that he has come back to visit me 3 more times. Since the company he works for is our business client a friend from work that has lived in the states and kind of went thru the same thing advised me to get a letter from my boss stating that I've been working there for x years and that we have business with the company he works for as our client.

Do you think this may be useful? What other information do we need?

wow , today I have just found this website and I am very glad. I am the one who is waiting for NOA 2. we have received our NOA 1 in 05-FEB-2010 so we keep waiting for it to come. Our lawyer said that it would take only 4-6 months to get approve. However it doesn't seem to be ok for me. Waiting for something uncontrollable is hard. My fiance sent our K1 application to VSC and today I just read their lastest update on March 12-2010 that K1 visa takes 5 months at VSC that means my case will take longer than 6 months for sure that disappointed me very much. I don't know how to say. and please forgive me if my English is not good because I am Thai and waiting for K1 Visa. Anyone here who have the same problem with me are welcome to discuss.
