Have you received the letter from the NVC with your HCM Case Number? You can't always go from the NAO2 date since the approved petition makes a pit stop at the NVC.
Our time frame is below.
Doan received her packet 3 about a month after NOA2.
NOA2 dated 9/16/2009
NVC sent to consulate on 9/22/2009
Packet 3 received by Doan in Nha Trang on 10/19/2009
Hi Bernie C,
How are things with you guys ? Actually I have not received the letter from NVC yet, I called a week after my NOA2 and they said the file has already sent to HCM consulate and gave me HCM case number, the consulate confirmed that they received the file, no specific date though. It's been a month since my NOA2, no package 3 yet.

My I-129F was approved on April 21 which was a month ago, my fiancee hasn't received package 3 yet. She joins a Viet forum where people discuss about K1 visa and so on, she told me that most of members there have got package 3 after the petition was approved 2-3 weeks, max is 4 weeks. There are some people that got no package 3, they went to The Info Booth to pick up Package 3 in person. I've gone to the usconsulate website to get some more information, somewhere it says like it takes about 2 months for the consulate to send the instruction package to beneficiary after they receive the petition from NVC. I also emailed and spoke to someone at the consulate, same answer... 8-12 weeks to get the instruction (Package 3)
I wonder why it takes that long and should I have my fiancee go to the Info Booth to get package 3 ? Any one of you had to wait that long for Package 3 in HCMC, Vietnam ?

Post-Decision Activity !!!!!! What's that ? Oh my God, I'm so overwhelmed with joy. I can't describe how great I am feeling right now Approved much sooner than I thought . Oh I want to hug every VJ member here and specially thanks to Audy_Rob, famous prediction...lol. You ARE good!
@Lina : You know, for some reason I kept looking at your timeline. In my mind I was hoping that I would get approval after you. When I saw your post, I was excited as well as nervous a bit. I triple-checked my account every day.
@CQ&CS : How are you doing ? You were online earlier, did not say anything. Hope you hear something soon.

Phewwww!!! Finally I found my topic. Thanks to all of you. I greatly appreciate your information.
I've filed the CRBA for the child. She has her US and Vietnamese passport. As for my fiancee, she did return with a form I-134 signed without norarized, the consulate sent her a letter that asked her to prodive W-2's of joint sponsor again. In sum, she never was granted the K1 visa.
I now understand that the chance for her to get a tourist visa is zero. I filed for K1 visa in late Feb, I know I will have to wait for another few months, I am preparing documents myself to get married in VN in case she can't get K1 visa. I just hope I don't have to deal with crazy complicated marriage proceedings and bureaucracy in VN though, waiting for another year will be killing me as both my fiancee and I are over forty.
Once again, thank you to everyone. Wish you all a happy life

I met my fiancee 3 years ago, be with her at least 10 times. We have tons of evidence such as emails, phone bills, chat, money reciepts and specially our gorgeous 11 months old baby girl. I divorced 6 years ago, no children, stable finance, cleaned background. The problem here is she had her ex-fiance filed for k1 visa 10 years ago, had interview and got blue sheet that asked for co-sponsor. Seven years later after she broke up with her ex, I met her. I filed for her k1 visa in Feb '2010, got NOA1 and been waiting for NOA2. What I've been worrying is our file will be put in the dark forever, I spoke to one guy at uscis last week, he said our case is need to be checked for awhile, if they need any evidence, they will let me know in the mail. I am very woried and have sense I will have to wait forever for my fiancee and my child to get here in usa. Can we file for tourist visa for my fiancee and the child while we are waiting for k1 visa ? Is there anyone of you have same situation and what is your suggetion for our case ?
:help:

It's really great to see the NOA2 list is getting longer and longer every day. Congratulations to all.
I've been worried a lot about our case. Before met me, my fiancee filed for k1 visa and got blue sheet that asked for co-sponsor. She broke up with her ex 10 years ago. We've been together for 3 years and have a girl who is 11 months now. I am really worried that uscis will put us on hold forever. Anyone has information or knows similar cases like us, please help. Thanks so much

Oops, I made a mistake and wanted to delete my post. Can someone show me how please ? So very sorry to all

Yeah, that's right. I got at least 3 touches, I have not seen any change for my status, still in the Initial View. I've seen some people that get a touch only after they spoke to someone at uscis. People usually get approval within 2-3 months, maximum is 5 months and much much longer for special or weird cases, like this one HERE Each case is different, I do expect to get NOA2 in less than two more months.@SunDrop : Have you been celebrating ? Get back to work please. I do not see you put me in the list of Feb fillers :crying:

See haze & ced, my hopefully soon occurred the morning of your approval (I must be psychic).
I am very impressed  Please PSYCHIC, tell me when I will get NOA2. :D

Spencer12 - don't worry, I've seen a few other people who've had a touch and then nothing for a while. Some cases seem to get a lot of touches and others hardly any - the frustrating thing is that there's no real way of knowing what the touch means! It could be that your file has been given to an officer to process, or moved from one location to another. We didn't get any touches from the day after we got our NOA1 until we were approved, then we got a touch the day after the NOA2. I'm sure that you'll be approved very soon, going by the dates of other people being approved at the moment.
Hang in there, it'll all be fine!

Actually 47 days....
Congratulations ! April fools day turns out to be a happy day for you and Shawn & Emi.
@CQ & CS : I have looked at your timeline, got NOA1 same day as Wishing. Hope you have good news soon
@SunDrop : looks like uscis is working on cases that got NOA1 between 8 and 12 from UK and Canada now. You should hear something soon. Good luck.

Hiya
Please could you complete your timeline, so we can keep the figures up to date? If you click on 'immigration timelines' at the top menu, you'll get through to a page that has your add/edit timeline option in the left column. The list that we use for tracking what's happening with everyone (when they don't post! lol) is the one in the middle column in bold, subtitled 'Igor's List'.
Welcome to the party
Thanks for showing me how to create a timeline. I am very new to the site. I've already completed my timeline, for some reason it won't let me view on Igor's list, I see mine is in the list though. I wonder how long it takes to be able to get it active or you must post a certain entry every day to show that your account is active

Guess who just got their NOA2! I can't remember the last time an email made me so happy. Why don't you go ahead and move us to the "Approved" section?
Man, I'm so glad for you. Got approval in 50 days, huh. Knowing someone here approved make me excited, can't wait till my turn. Hope I can have some good news in two more weeks.

Hi February filers, how are you guys doing ? Please count me in. 34 days since NOA1, I check my account every day like crazy, many times I got error message instead of approval...lol. Wish you all luck and be with the one you love soon
Package 3 - US Consulate in HCMC, Vietnam
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
Posted
Hi there, thanks for the info. I've looked at your timeline, it's about 2 months since your NOA2 and no package 3 yet ? Wow, that's insane. Two months for the consulate to send out package 3 ? I can't believe it. Already heard about HCM consulate, it is tough and slow. Where does your fiancee live ? Do you think of having her go pick up package 3 in person instead of waiting it comes on the mail ? I hope you guys get it some time next week.
