No-Ten

I put my CON in a sheet protector and it came back to me in the same condition i sent it out and still in the sheet protector. I read where one CON was damaged by water and i tired to avoid that. I hope this bit helps.

Hi, congratulations! It's the final step. Below are the things i took with me:

The court room i had the ceremony in, did not allow us to take cameras or cell phones in. So find out what is acceptable at the place you will be having your ceremony. It would be bad to go back to your car to return the stuff they do not allow. All the best wishes.

I did adjust my status from Tourist visa (and i did not have to go back home) to resident and recently i became a citizen. What matters is that the marriage is real and one did not have an intent to migrate here.

The ceremony did start late but once the judge entered the court room, all was done within half an hour. Total number of all the new citizens - 70. I am glad my hubby, two sisters and a friend made it to the ceremony. Once again thank to all the VJ members for your help through out this journey.

I gained my permanent resident status in Aug 2011 and the first thing I did was enlist in the Military and I get shipped out in April 2012 to start my Army career.

My recruiter informed me that I will gain my citizenship by the end of my first year at the same time ill be due to file ROC on my 2 year GC.

They already made me fill out all my N400 and M426 and they said they will file it once I am eligible.

My question is that should I file for ROC in april 2013 or wait for my N400 to be approved?

You do not have to file for Roc, i had a friend who joined the military when she had her 2 year greencard and being in the military she did not need to file for Roc. She was a citizen before she could even apply to remove the conditions. And that is what will happen in your case too. I am sure other VJ members will response as well.

Unless the specify to arrive early, be there 5 or 10 minutes earlier than the time mentioned. My oath ceremony time was 7am, but that was when I should arrive. It did not start until 9am since there were 1548 people attending....

Am I reading the information correctly in all that I need for documentation referring to me or my spouse, all I need is tax returns, mortgage, lease, bank accounts etc. I DO NOT need to send joint bills or any of that kind of thing to show common residence? I have been going through all the stuff I am holding onto 'just in case' but if I do not need these things then it'd be nice to finally de-clutter. I am not eligible to apply for my citizenship until the beginning of December, but just trying to get organized.

I do agree with V333k, however hold on to your bills until the process is over. Before my interview i recieved a yellow letter which asked me to bring my passsport during my interview, all the same i decided to take our bills, bank statements, lease, insurance forms and anything else to show hubby and i are together, and i was glad i did because just after the test and going over the N-400 with the officer who interviewed me, he did asked to see my lease and some bills. (all he took was the lease and our bank statements and added them to my file) So my advice is keep everything untill your sure you do not need them any more. (As for now hubby and i have changed everything to paperless and i am in the process of shredding all the other paper bills we have in the house to create more space. -. I do believe each case is different!!

Oath Ceremony

On October 24, 2011, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283

So for now i am going to wait for the letter to arrive to my mailbox. All the best wishes to those still waiting.

Right, it's good to have all documents that they may ask for rather than not have them. I too decided to take them just in case and i am glad i did. At one point i was just going to take my passport with me because when i received the yellow letter that is all they had requested me to take with me. I will suggest you take your bills, lease and any other documents. All the best on your interview date.

just curious. why did they ask for the bills/statement? what base were you filing for 3-year married to USC or 5-years residency?

Thank you PhopngDiepNj, I am glad i am almost done. One more step to go. (Oath) i filed under 3-year married. All the officer asked me for before the test was my DL, passport and Gcard. Once the interview and the test was done he said that you qualify to be naturalized under 3 years since you are still married and leaving with your husband, and it was almost like a by the way...do you have documents to show you have been leaving together. And i said yes, so i gave him the lease and the bank statements, and i was getting ready to give him some more bills, insurance forms and he said there was no need. He just took the lease and the bank statements and filed them. My suggestion is that your wife should take all the bills, your lease and any other documents in case they ask. All the best to your wife on November 7.

Hi May 2011 Filers, My interview was this morning at 10am. Hubby and i arrived on time and everything went on well. After the test, the officer asked all the question on the N-400 form and he also asked to see our lease and any bills i had. He filed the lease and our joint back statements ( i had other bills with me but he said the lease and bank statements were enough) in my file and he told me i have been approved for naturalization. He also told me that my oath ceremony will be in December since the November ceremony is already full. Thank you to all the VJ users for your help, for those waiting all the best.
