  1. Hello all!

We got our NVC receipt letter back at the end of June and still hadn't heard anything from the London Consulate. Well, David called today and apparently they sent out his packet 3 a while ago and it's gotten lost in the mail... They directed him to the website where he can find all the forms and things, but there seems to be nothing there that gives instructions on how to schedule his medical exam. I'm assuming he just needs the phone number to call and our case #? Because he's not going to get a physical packet 3, we're not sure... I know there's a link that's floating around these forums that is supposed to be the instructions from the embassy, but currently that link goes to the embassy website and says the topic can't be found...

Could anyone tell me what their packet 3 instructions were for scheduling the exam? Or at least the number to call and maybe the hours that they're open?

    Thanks a million!!

  2. I've seen a lot of posts regarding travel back and forth during the visa process, but I am wondering if my English fiance can visit me in the US AFTER he has received his K1 visa. He is likely to receive his visa sometime this summer, but is not able to actually use it and move here until the end of the year for various personal reasons. So, we are planning on him visiting in September so that we're not stuck apart for such a terribly long time, but we're not sure if it's possible. If he travels here and doesn't use the visa, just comes in as a tourist like usual, will they have a problem with that? He will only be staying here for a matter of weeks and then returning home until his big move. We would have no intention of him overstaying the visa waiver limit or getting married while he's visiting. So it should be that as long as he provides ties to home and proves he will return, everything will be ok, right? Hope this makes sense :) Thanks much for any input!!

  3. Oh, I see. Yes, you are interpreting Question 10 incorrectly. The certificate number and date and place of issue is ONLY if you acquired your citizenship through Naturalization. In your case and my case as well, just check the box "Birth in the U.S."

They are not asking for the Birth Certificate number, date and place of issue.

    Awesome, thanks very much!!

  4. Where does it ask for the Birth Certificate Number and Date. I only see in the I-129F instructions where it asks for a copy of your birth certificate front and back.

"3. What Documents Do You Need to Show That You Are a U.S. Citizen?

    A. If you were born in the United States, give USCIS a copy, front and back, of your birth certificate."

On the actual form, under the section that asks how you are a US citizen. There's a box that asks for that information under the check boxes for "Birth" and "Naturalization". Maybe I'm interpreting it wrong?

  5. Hello!

My fiance and I are just starting this K-1 process and we've run into a couple of basic questions. I'm sure these have been answered before, so sorry for repeats! I promise I searched around the forums first! Anyways, here it goes:

For the I-129f, it asks for my birth certificate number and date. My certificate lists an LF number and a CF number. I'm guessing that the CF number is the one to use, but I'm not sure. Anyone know? It's a Michigan certificate if that helps...

As far as the date goes, there's my actual birthdate, a date under the CF number, another date when it was received by the registrar, and yet ANOTHER date when it was signed by the Deputy Clerk. Which date should be used?

Also, for the G-325a, it asks for employment history along with full names and addresses. How does one get that information to fit into those tiny boxes...? :help:

Any help at all will be greatly appreciated! This process is already overwhelming  , but we're overjoyed to have found such an invaluable website!!

    Thanks in advance,

    Kelly
