I have a question. I came to USA with a K1 visa and I got my green card under my single last names now that I have to renew my resident I would like to change it for my husband's last name. Do I need to change my marriage certificate as well????

I would like to know if this is the correct info???

Renewing your EAD (assuming you filed for AOS). You may renew your EAD when your EAD nears expiration. You must renew your EAD to be able to work until you become a Permanent Resident (or Conditional Permanent Resident) at which time your "Green Card" will be proof of eligibility to work. A suggestion before filing is to check the processing time currently for EAD's and file at a time equal to the number of days before your EAD expires. ex: if the processing time is three months then apply for a renewal three months before your EAD expires. You will file as category.

I have both documents with me. However my work permit expiration day is may 2011 and my GC is until 2012, we are traveling back to my country the next week and I am scared If we need to file an extension for my Work permit or at this point only the GC matters.

Hola a todos!! Les escribo ya que quizas muchas personas aqui mantenga la misma pregunta o tambien como me pasa a mi me siento identificada con muchos de ustedes. Me encuentro en la busqueda de trabajo y en realidad no ha sido nada facil para mi.

En primer lugar solo tenga experiencia laboral en Aviacion Comercial y mi ingles es bueno pero me falta mejorar mucho aun.

Les agradeceria mucho compartan con todos nosotros aquellas personas que Gracias a Dios ya pasaron por este largo proceso y tambien me gustaria saber como lidiar con ello.

Quisiera saber si recomiendan ir a agencias de trabajo o no??

Wow!!! Que alegria encontrar Peruanos por esta via. Tengo en USA ya casi 6 meses y aun me falta acostumbrarme a algunas cosas. Lo mas sorprendente es que mi esposo es original de OHIO pero vivimos en Florida.

I am working as a data entry operator unfortunately its not related to my career but I have to do what I have to do. I am good guys. I keep my good attitude and I know that many things are possible. I will keep trying.

I want to share my situation with all of you guys. I already have my EAD and still looking for a job and unfortunately nothing yet.

I know that our situation is difficut because of the economy but what make even more difficult for me Its that I only have experiences in the Aviation industry.

Does anyone have any suggestion?? I would really appreciate any good advice.

Dont worry. That happened to me too in the past. I was denied a tourist visa and I got approved my K1 fiance visa.

Now I'm here and very happy with my husband.

Just keep all the evidence possible. Do you have your engagement ring receipt?? Lots of pictures together, phone bills that can show them that numbers, letters and boarding passes.

Hi everybody:

I'm kind of confused. According to the USCIS website my EAD was approved on may 7th so we were very happy about it and making some plans.

Suddenly the information changed and now appears like my EAD was approved on may 12th. I know that I shouldnt make a big deal of it but honestly I need to work ASAP.

Does anyone had the same problem?? They also mentioned that the card can take 30 days??? I would like to know some personal experiences.

I have a pending job interview. We all know that we cant work without EAD, However this opportunity can help us alot because with one income things have been very hard for both of us.

Hi Guys:

Anybody could advise us how to change my name in my SSN?

I read that probably I'm not going to be able to change my SSN with my husband's last name until I get my EAD or my GC.

Now my doubts are even more because we sent my I-485 application months ago and I signed everything with my maiden name since my SSN and my visa appears like this.

I'm just wondering if USCIS automatically is going to add my husband last name.

I hope you could give me some advices or help me with your own experiences.
