No encuentro como editar mi post, asi que agrego en otro post. Queria aclarar que estoy aplicando a la visa IR1 (ya estoy casado), pero entiendo que los requerimientos de documentos son iguales.

Respecto al certificado de nacimiento, naci en Capital Federal, y el certificado fue emitido por el "Registro del Estado Civil". Interpreto que como es un certificado de capital no tengo que hacerlo legalizar por el Ministerio del Interior. (aunque me llama la atencion algunos aca dicen que igual hay que hacerlo legalizar)

Y despues de leer un post por Celeste & C (pagina 36), interpreto que quizas el certificado tiene que ser actualizado solo si necesita ser legalizado por el Ministerio del Interior (porque el Ministerio del Interior para legalizar el certificado necesita que quien firmo el certificado tenga su firma registrada en el Ministerio del Interior).

En resumen, interpreto que si el certificado de nacimiento es de Capital Federal este no necesita ser actualizado porque no necesita ser legalizado por el Ministor del Interior, y por ende usar el original de cuando uno nacio esta bien.

No se si estoy interpretando esto de forma correcta, agradeceria enormemente si alguien con conocimiento podria decir que piensa al respecto

Espero alguien me pueda dar una mano!

Estoy por enviar los documentos para la visa al NVC, y me surgio una duda muy importante respecto al certificado de nacimiento.

En este post hay concenso respecto a que el certificado de nacimiento tiene que estar actualizado.

Sin embargo, en las intrucciones que vi no hay mencion alguna de que tenga que estar actualizado.

(las instrucciones generales dicen certificado original o copia certificada, mientras que las intrucciones para Argentina solo mencionan que el "deberá estar legalizado en caso de haber sido emitido en un registro civil de una provincia")

Estaba por enviar hoy los documentos a NVC, incluyendo mi certificado de nacimiento original (emitido cuando naci hace 35 anos), cuando repare en este post (al que llegue buscando informacion respecto a la necesidad de traducir o no), y ahora no se si enviar el original, o si tengo que enviar una copia certificada actualizada, lo que entiendo me tomaria una semana extra.

Alguno podria decirme donde leyeron que tenga que ser actualizado? Alguno ha aplicado con el certificado original (no actualizado)?

No entiendo como puede ser que una copia certificada sea mejor que el original.

Dear fellow forum dwellers,

I have a tricky situation, and really hope some of you will be able to offer valuable advice.

I will start a MBA next September. I will apply for a F-1 visa soon.

My longtime girlfriend (she's American) studies in the university I'll be going to.

(I lived in the US for many years --with a H1-B visa-- and moved abroad for professional reasons).

We've been thinking about marrying for a long time, and we planned our wedding for May. All was great, until I was told that the wedding will lead to the F-1 visa being refused. And then goodbye MBA!

I have no intent of becoming an immigrant. We plan to leave the US after my MBA and her masters (our graduation dates will be the same). Its a great country, but the world is huge and we live only once.

But I understand the immigration officer will most likely not believe me.

Is that right? Should we go through the incredible hassle of postponing the wedding?
