  1. I still think that your interview will be scheduled in Dubai, since that is where you live. I have known people personally in the past, who had their interviews elsewhere. One good friend had hers in Korea, even though she was a Filipina. As I said before, the NVC will assign the case to the appropriate consulate. Once you get your case number, you will know. The first three letters of the number are the consulate where you will interview. If it is MNL, you will interview in Manila. Fill out the forms, answer the questions as asked. Don't read into the questions.

  2. Hello everyone,

I am currently depolyed far east until mid March. I have sent the I-129F package back in August and still have not recieved the notice of action the second time. I have called the military help line and requested a priority look. They were suppposed to send me an email yesterday to give me there decision on that but I never recieved one. My question is if in fact I do get the speedy look or what have you, will it be possible for my finace to recieve her Visa to enter the U.S. by Mid March when I return. Obviously that has been the plan all along but I am starting to realize we are running out of time very quickly and as you can imagine I dont have a whole lot of time to dedicate to this. Would it help if I were to call again? What do you think I should do? Thank you kindly, your help is much appreicated.

Did you know you were deploying when you applied? You could have filed for an emergency expedite based on your deployment. You should still be able to expedite, but it's not guaranteed because you are already deployed. Most expedite requests for military are approved due to imminent deployment. To expedite, you have to request it in writing, and provide justification as such. Your deployment orders may suffice...but expediting at this stage just to have her here when you return may not work.

    Good luck!

  3. Your wife may be asked to show the CEMAR at her interview and will show that you and her are married. I would suspect that NSO will want an original copy but aske them and see. The best way to send documents in my opinion is FedEX. Expensive but fast and reliable.

    :thumbs::thumbs:

That's right. The CEMAR will also show previous marriages, and if she was already married, they will want proof of annulment. The Philippines is a high fraud country, and the Manila Embassy has different requirements at interview than other Embassies. The CO can ask for whatever they want, and will RFE if they don't get it.

  4. Hello dear VJ Members

Please I need your advice for my situation below.

1.)We got married in Manila, Phils. on Dec. 1, 2010, husband is back in the US and will start to work on I-130 Form, but Im bit confused here , since Ive been working in UAE-Dubai for 5 years now , and going home only to the Phils. for annual vacation, not sure which address I should write on the G-325A and I-130 (??) Should it be Dubai address / Or shall I write only Phils. address since that is my permanent address and will go back there for Interview. Or shall I rather get interviewed here in the US-Embassy- Dubai? Is it imperative that beneficiarys : Consulate(US) must be in the country where Marriage took place for CR/IR1 Visa ? Has anyone had the same experience out there? Please, any light that you can shed on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

2.)Can I write my married name on all application forms even though I havent changed my passport yet? Ive enquired with PHils consulate-Dubai but I need to submit Marriage Certificate from NSO which will take a while, as per my hearing maybe 6 mos before it could be released. Follow up question: Anyone has the knowledge how long the NSO can release Certificates after it was submitted by the Local Municipality? If so, Is there any way it can be faster? (note: I am only holding our original Marriage Certificate registered locally)

Well, I can answer your follow-up question. You can obtain a certified xerox copy of the marriage cert from the NSO as soon as the marriage is registered. This copy will be blue in color, and will work for the intial petition. The certified original will be available in about 3 weeks once registered. This will be yellow, or green in color, and is what will be required at your interview.

As to your other questions, when filling out the G-325a, answer the questions as they are asked. Current address = where you are now. Since you have been there 5 years, you should only have to list your Dubai address since it is where you reside and the form states adress for last 5 years.... Vacationing in the PI doesn't count as a permamnent residence. Now, since you are living in Dubai, your hubby should list the US Embassy in Dubai as your consulate. NVC will assign your package to the appropriate embassy anyways. But since your primary residence is in UAE, you SHOULD be interviewed in Dubai.

Your name should reflect what is on your passport, since your passport name is what your visa will be issued to. I think there have been folks here who have changed the name on their passport after submitting their forms. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. :bonk:

Hope this helps. Good luck and welcome to VJ!

  5. The Center for Disease Control website will recommend any vaccinations. I went in February to marry my asawa, and had not problems. As stated the only reason for a visit to the Embassy would be for marriage paperwork. Otherwise, she can register with the Department of State travellers advisory site. Basically if something were to happen while she is there, she would be notified if she needs to evacuate the country, and will also be updated about any changes to current travel advisories. Have a great time with your fiance, and I hope she enjoys the Philippines as much as I did.

OH yeah, Make sure she keeps ALL of her ticket stubs, and receipts and take PLENTY of pictures for your visa petition.:thumbs:

  6. The POE will be the first airport he arrives at that has an immigration checkpoint. Since he is coming on a CR-1/IR-1 yes he can work as soon as he gets here. From what I have been told, you can call in with your change of address. Quick and simple. I believe, and someone can correct me If I am worng..as long as his address is updated to where he is working, you should be fine.

  7. My wife has the original marriage certificate, can she register our marriage without letting them have our original copy? Or does she need an extra certified copy? What would be the best way to do it?

Send her a certified copy post haste. The quicker the better. Once she registers the marriage, she can get an idea of when to expect it to show up on her CEMAR. My wife's took about 2 weeks.Hope this helps.

  8. Okay...let me see if I have this right. You and you wife married in HK. Your wife is currently in the Phils. Right? If so, all she needed to do was take the certified copy to the NSO, and fill out paperwork to register right there in Manila. There was no need to go through the HK Consulate. She could have done it herself.

Anywho. It can take up to a few months for the paperwork to meander it's way to the NSO. Hopefully they will have it soon...You might want to consider having the wife fill out the forms, and drop the certificate off at the NSO herself.

  9. What is the least amount of time in between and still have the med. results in time for interview in Manila?

I am thinking a Mon. and Fri.

I dont want to keep her away from family any more than needed since they work far away/ she won't see them for a while after coming to States.

From what I have read, most suggest a full week. Depending on how busy, and when she gets to St Luke's, medicals can take a day and a half to two days alone. Giving St Luke's 2 days to process, and forward the results may be tough. And, if her results are not there, she will still have to wait after her interview. As long as she is scheduled for her interview, she can go to the medical. Just my two cents.....

  10. You can go to your CFO after your interview. You can go before as well using your interview e-mail as your proof to get in. It's up to you. If you choose to wait until after your interview, and haven't received your passport from the Embassy yet, you can still attend the seminar, and counselling. They will give you your completion certificates. Once you have your passport from the Embassy, take it, and your certificates to the nearest CFO office. They will affix the stamp to your Visa. If I can make a suggestion, use PRISM for your CFO seminar. I have heard they are less stringent than St Mary's. Make sure you bring all of the required documents for the seminar. Most people will just take the same package they had at their interview.

Good luck, Maligayang Pasko, at Manigong bagong taon!

  11. Thank you very much Filipinawife0210. Yes i make it sure that i bring my son's interview appointment and explain to the guard that i need to bring my son with me in my interview.

 Take a deep breath, relax and concentrate on passing your interview. No need to get anxious over other things. You'll be fine with him there. The pre-interviewer will more than likely ask, but may not..about your son. Tell her the same thing you tell the guard. No worries.

  12. See bold above. That current Immigrant visa application fee is billed as $404.

Can you link to where you got this info? I only see a $330 fee for an I-130 based visa.... :bonk:

Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fees (non-refundable, per person)

Immediate relative and family preference applications (processed on the basis of an approved I-130, I-600 or I-800 petition)

    $330

  13. Please help me. What should i do to bring my son to the US embassy. I have my interview schedule for Januray 4 and my 9 years old son interview schedule is January 5. Please help me because i am going to bring my son during my interview because i cannot leave him in the hotel. What should i do. I hope the security guard of the US embassy allow my son to get in for my interview schedule.

    Thank you very much.

Make sure you have his interview letter with you when you get in line at the Embassy. I have seen threads on here, where children were allowed into the Embassy with the beneficiary. Take his Interview letter with you, and explain to the guard that he is scheduled for the next day, and will be gooing to your interview with you.

Best of luck on your interview!

  14. Understood. I was mainly addressing the suggestion of using the EXIF information from the photo as evidence of when the photo was taken. I was making the point that the EXIF information was less reliable than the photo image itself because it's easier to edit. I also explained that USCIS will tend to believe your secondary evidence if you provide believable primary evidence, and disregard your secondary evidence if you don't have the primary evidence.

In the days of PhotoShop and photo-realistic computer graphics, there will never be any guarantee that a photo has not been fabricated or doctored to appear to show something that isn't real. If you have primary evidence that strongly indicates that the photo could be real, then the adjudicator is not likely to question it.

So you don't think they would believe this person was at the Taj Mahal?

  15. It's true that is what happened to us. The lady told us she is e-mailing packet 3 and that's what we got. I have everything together that he needs for the interview and it will be a big pain to make copies of all this stuff. The proof for my I-134 is 2 inches thick. i hope that things haven't changed starting with us :bonk:

Someone has to be the Guinnea Pig. Good luck. Please post your results once you figure this cluster out. It might make it easier for the next in line.

  16. I applied for k1 after almost 2 year time they send my documents back that they doubt we married, now my fiancée coming visiting me to Pakistan and we marry and file again case but please tell what visa to file after marriage ? and what is its fess in USD ?

If you are married, the USC or LPR spouse files I-130 package for CR-1 Visa. Fee schedule is:

    I-130 $420

    I-864 (Affidavit of Support) $ 88

    DS-230 (Visa Application) $330

    Total $830

Medical exam fees vary by country. In Islamabad, for a person aged 21-50 years old is approx. 10000Rs.

Hope this helps. Check out the IR-1/ CR-1 guides in the guides section of this forum. Good luck!

  17. Hi!

I would like to ask if anybody has gotten the pink paper of their NSO marriage certificate.

I thought the color of the paper is only yellow.

The problem is I got mine in pink paper. Would this be alright?

I hope somebody can help me ease my mind. Thank you!

I'm not completely sure, but I think that the NSO certified marriage licenses are either blue or green. Ours is blue....
