  1. Your fiance needs an ACRO (the expensive one) the other one is a CRB which is used by bodies who employ people working with children and vulnerable adults. In order to get a US visa you need the ACRO. You also don't send these documents in with the P3 - I know it's confusing but the only things you needed to send were the forms. Any other documentation (along with photocopies of said documentation) you just take along to the interview.

Hope that helps. There's an application form available online.

Thanks! Since I posted that, on the same day we figured out the more expensive Police Record was the right one..and he got all the photos and the verification sigs and the proof of addys and its off in the post..

What about the fact that the Letter he got said K3/K4 instead of K1..I emailed the NVC with the question..but how can I get a corrected letter for him? Id hate to have any confusion at the embassy on what visa we are applying for..thanks if anyone has any insight!

  2. Hello..on 5/21/10, my fiance received his Packet 3 on 5/21/10. The letter referred to the fiance visa, but called it the K3/K4 visa, which is incorrect since we are applying for the K1. I emailed the NVC to alert them to this error, is there anything else I should do?

Also, with the original I-129F papers, I had submitted an original Police Record for him. I only retained a photocopy. Packet 3 clearly states that they need an ORIGINAL form or certified copy plus a photocopy. I emailed NVC about this, since there is an original in the initially submitted paperwork. But today my fiance went to the Police Dept to reapply and again paid the 10 pounds to get another original Police Record. But the police rep showed him that there is a second type of Police Record report request that costs 35 pounds and she said was for Visa applications for US and Australia..does anyone know if there is a different kind of Criminal Records letter needed for a visa application? Or are we okay requesting the 10 pound one, which an original of was submitted with our initial paperwork to the CSC? Any assistance would be much appreciated...Thanks. Victoria

  3. Oh! and also...on the website it mentions allow 3 to 6 months for processing thru the embassy? Are those correct timeframes? Gary seems to think this is going to be all done in just a few weeks..and I dont know if we still have 2-3 months ahead of us...his job does need fair warning when hes going to go...and he will tell him this week..but no idea what timeframe were realistically lookin at if anyone has any insight..

  4. Packet 3 is the list of documents the Embassy will send your fiance/fiancee in order to recieve the interview. Check the US Embassy Candada website to see if they have the packet contents listed. You and your fiance/fiancee should start working on these now.

Hello! I have never had luck figuring out what the ppw needed is..it seems from the site that an I864 is needed..and perhaps copies of my taxes as sponsor..but what on his side? Yea i find that website confusing lol

  5. Anyone else got touches the last few days and hasn't heard anything yet? Usually the pattern is that when there is a touch after waiting a while there's either an RFE or an NOA2. Had touches on Saturday and Monday but never heard anything.

hello! What does it say when you go under your receipt number for your case? does it still say Initial Review in the body of that paragraph? I never got an email or a text...it was just updated there...good luck!

  6. Hi everyone, My fiancé just IM'ed me, he got the packet 3 notice with his instructions in the mail, it was dated 2010-04-28.

Glad to see all the touches and some NOA2's as well here. GONGRATS everyone!

Hi Evey! Thats great! What is in the packet 3 exactly? And Im looking at your timeline ..we got our NOA2 on 4/26/10 and Im trying to figure out how quick it moves thru NVC and on to UK...my fiancee has a job and hes trying to figure out when the best time to tell them is..and best of luck to everyone on their touches!!!all good thoughts :star:

  8. Congratulations! It feels great doesn't it? CSC isn't messing around! Give it about 5 days and NVC should recieve your approval. I called today and got my NVC Case Number BNK2010616-XXX.

; :: YES! It feels so fantastic and a relief!!! Yday I was in tears bcuz it seemed like so many approvals were happening for others on a similar timeline..now I am crying from sheer JOY!!! What a long road this is!! Congrats to you Richard  and GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

  9. go to immigration timelines, Igors list, sort for California service center and viola you have the last 15 couples that have been approved... as well as a listing of all the poor souls such as us still waiting for our big NOA2 day.

Thanks so much Flor-Man! That was really helpful to look at, if a bit um ..daunting since we are #152!! Now.......what does "adjuticated" mean? Not sure bout that one. thanks! :help:

  10. Sorry guys for being the party pooper. It made me sad too when I found out. I had my hopes up seeing the results from the Feb filers......

Hopefully the workload is distributed in an efficient way.

Sharing all info is a good idea..we have to have each others back and let everyone know whats happening..thats the reason for this..but still Im going to forget you said it and hope for the best........being separated is bad enough without dwelling on our times being extended out..5 months would be worst case most definitely..

  11. Add these dates in your signature block under your profile settings, that way you can be tracked by Igors list. Did you create a VJ timeline? The VJ timeline will estimate when you will recieve your NOA2. Based on the amount of reported approved petitions the dates will change. The more petitions that are approved the shorter the wait for your NOA2. I have been monitoring the Feb filer thread and some people got approval in 23 days!

Thank you Richard! I didnt know how those timelines were updated so thanks for the heads up!! Cheers, Victoria ; ) And great to know about processing times! Our fingers are crossed!
