  1. Oh I do have another question... it's so confusing :(

I'm trying to make the application fee payment now, and on the Embassy site, they say:

"The receipt must state the visa applicant's name (message field - viestikenttä) and the archive ID number (arkistointitunnus)."

I have no "archive ID number",at least I have never seen it. Does a K1 applicant have one at all?

  2. Hi, I just have to ask because I don't understand at all and I'll soon start crying

I have all the documents ready for the interview and I want to send my checklist to the Embassy, in Helsinki, Finland. Only one question remains. They say on the checklist:

"VISA APPLICATION FEE: Application fee of USD___ or Euros___ can be paid to our xxx account, please bring the receipt to the interview."

WHAT is the ammount they want? I've found mixed information:

On the US Helsinki Embassy site, they say:

    "K category immigrant visa $240 - €192.00 "

    http://finland.usembassy.gov/fees.html

    But on http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1263.html they say:

    "K – Fiance(e) or Spouse of U.S. citizen category visa: $350.00".

So which one is it? I really don't want to make anymore mistakes so please help me!

  3. Also... *panic again* (&sorry for doubble posting but I can't edit anymore)

Do we have to explain what everything is when we send stuff for proof of ongoing relationship & proof of having met? For example we are including a copy of his phone bill - do we have to add a paper on the top of it saying "This is a copy of his phone bill" - and maybe even sign it?

  4. I am also wondering how much proof they need for having met in person and ongoing relationship... It feels strange to send both passport stamps and boarding passes! But I think the more the better.

Also do I have to explain a lot about everything I send? For example we are including a copy of my engagement ring receipt - do we have to add a paper there saying "This is a copy of her engagement ring receipt" - and sign it and everything? "This is a copy of his phone bill", etc.

  5. Hello everyone,

We are filing for our K-1 and the space for our answers on the forms I-129F and G-325A is too little for our long addresses and names... We are attaching additional paper sheets to the forms (with heavy clips) as we were told to do in the instructions. Yet we feel there is lack of important information about how these additional sheets should be done!

    1. We are writing them on microsoft word. Do we need to use a specific font or size?

    2. These sheets have to be named. I read they should all be called first "I-129F Supplement". Do I put a number after that? We have about three of them. Then on the next lign I would naturally write: "Form xxx, Part A, Question 1: [full name of the question]." "[Then on the next line, the answer.]" Is this the right way to go?

What about the Cover letter's Contents -part, should we just list them as "I-129F Supplements 1, 2 and 3", or should we write the full questions there? Like this: "I-129F Supplement Number 1 - Form I-129F, Part B, Question 1: Name of alien fiancée."

    3. We are asked to date and sign all the sheets. Sure, but does it matter in which way? Horizontal, vertical? First signature, then date, or the other way around? Any ideas?

Okay, I feel like I am being way too pedantic now. Perhaps there are no instructions at all for this and everyone just does something and they are ok with that. But I want to be sure that nothing goes wrong. Please try to understand and thank you in advance! :)

  6. This is an old thread, I'll use it because I don't want to create a new one for nothing.

So we are applying for my K-1. I am the foreign fiancée and I am still living with my parents who are against my marriage. They will be angry if they find post related to the visa and it will cause fighting etc that I find very hard to go through. I would like to let the USCIS know my post office box number, because then the Embassy would sent the letters and all other post to that address and not my home. This way my parents would not have to think of it and it would be more simple for me too.

However on the I-129F and my G-325A I need to write my real street address, since that is where I live, right? Then what do I have to write and where, in your opinion, to receive all related mail to my PO box? Thank you in advance.

Can't anyone answer me? Please, it would be very important for me to know. We are trying to get through all this but it seems so hard. Please help us!

  8. SO I really dont have to worry about the young age (of 21) when we apply and get married at 22?

    I really hope so!

I don't think so! I am more worried about my age difference problem. I have heard the age doesn't mean anything to them. All they want to know is that you really will marry her because you love her and not to get the citizenship. It depends on the country as well, how hard the Embassy is etc. Your interview will decide a lot, just make sure to act mature enough.

  9. That gives me hope, thank you so much!

How old is your fiance? are you the USC? And how far are you guys in the process?

Srry for all the questions, they just popped up in me!

    All the best to you!

    Thanks!

I'm the Finnish girl and he is the USC. He is much older, which is just making this much harder for us. We have just begun to look for information and print the forms, so we aren't yet far at all.

  10. Hello Brian!

I just wanted to tell you not to worry. I am 18 years old and still applying for the K-1. That is young, isn't it :D My fiancé is older though. Everybody looks at me like I was crazy when I tell them about my plans. Perhaps I am. However I feel I am old enough for this. We will see.

Good luck with your K-1! :)
