Thanks for your replies! You have definitely made me feel more at ease about the situation. I think we are going to go over to USA a couple days before the visa expires as you both said, and then return to the UK for a couple months just til we can get everything sorted. I have family so I can give them that address and they can mail the green card there. Lets just hope it all works out!

Hello, my husband has recently got his CR-1 visa, however it is expiring in April and due to several problems/issues we are unable to move right now! I've seen people write on forums before, "just go for a day, get your visa stamped and then leave". Is this possible? We are planning to move asap, but I don't want to do this and then send off any red flags. I know that I have to go with him, and we also have to provide an address for the greencard to be sent to, which is no problem, as I have family in the USA. Has anyone done this, or have you heard anyone talking about it?

Hello, my husband and I have received our CR1 visa and it expires on the 27th of April 2011. We are NOT ready to leave yet, several problems have came up and some family issues. Has anyone had to contact the Consulate about extending their visa to a later date? Or heard about anyone doing so? Anything would be helpful, I'm planning on calling the Consulate this week.
