What happened to the Jamaica forum it use to be pinned up? So I petitioned for my stepchild under I-130. (Husband came over on K1 visa 6 years ago now.) I received NOA1. Im wondering in Jamaica specifically did anyone do this and if so, did they make you bring the child to the embassy? Did both of you have to go? I am wondering since I am the US citizen and I petitioned if I need to go or can my husband since he is her dad. How long did it take everyone? I see 5 months is the timeline right now for CSC.
Hi I brought my stepdaughter over and her granddad took her we didn't have to attend. It took about 6 months but make sure that he sign her birth cert if not they probable will ask for a dna test.

Wondering if expedites are granted at nvc and embassy level?if so how does one request such?
Yes they are you call the NVC and let them know and then once you have a case number then you can email the embassy and ask for an expedite on that level

Hello all:
Trying to get all of my paper work completed for the upcoming K-1 Visa interview. My question to you is this... As the petitioner I know that I am required to complete the I-134 for evidence of support. However, if I am utilizing a joint sponsor... do they complete the I-134 also or should they complete the I-864?
Thanks
Wish I could help but that i'm not sure of

Okay, is this are you two U.S. Citizens or Jamaicans? I am USC and curious how immigration will take it...
I have dual citizenship and my kids are us citizens but i'm not jamaican

Has anyone traveled recently to Montego Bay airport with their small child? I'm in the process of getting a passport for my two year old son and traveling to Jamaica August 16th-31st... I've read that some countries require birth certificates and signed copies of consent from BOTH biologicial parents in order to enter or exit the country. Is this true for Jamaica and re entry to the U.S.?
In other words, do I need ANYthing other than my son's passport for entry and exit from Jamaica and enter the U.S.? His biological father is on the birth certificate but will not be traveling with.
Any information is greatly appreciated!!
I traveled threr with my kids almost 2 yrs ago and their passports were good enough

I called the NVc and asked if I had to send my marriage licences and divorce decree and they said no the DS230 is only the applicants information noe the embassy is requesting it but for my divorce decree do any one know if it can be a copy when I filed for my husband I sent a copy but I just want to make sure because things change.
-
Send the embassy an email and ask them the question.
No it's the fee that is usually paid at the NVC state, but since NVc was skipped the fee wasn't paid there.
i have sent 2 emails since last monday and no response so I called my congresswoman

As I have stated in previous post my I had my stepdaughter's case expedited well the NVC sent her case to JA on April 22 a few days before that I sent in the DS3032 and AOS so the NVC never sent it with the case to JA. So on friday they called her great aunt who she use to live with and sent her info to her and she had to fax it to me and it is not so great does anyone know if when I send in the DS230 to the embassy do I have to send the money then to pay for it or does it get paid at the embassy at the time of the interview?
-
I was wondering since my case was expedited and I never got to pay the IV or send off the DS230 will the JA embassy request this first and then set the interview or will it all be taken care of at the time of the interview?

When my husband was getting his visa two years ago it was always the second week of the month, unless it was an embassy that is slower. Slower embassys, like Lima, Peru, schedule interviews through out the month. So you should know in the next two weeks or so.
Thanks for your response

My stepdaughters case left the NVC on friday for the Jamaica Embassy does anyone know about how long before we will get an interview date and are we in time for the May interviews.
-
my daughter case is expedited at NVC too...they were really fast...goodluck to both of us...godbless...
thank you so much
Well thats a very good reason! Congrats on the expedite! Good Luck on the rest of your Immigration Journey!
thank you

What was your reason for you case to be expedited if I/we may ask?
Her dad came her last year and she is 5 and staying with his dad and he is leaving for canada the beginning of june so no one to keep her

I filed for hubby in 2009 and it took 8 months and then we filed for his daughter in 2010 and that also take 8 months but I have seen people that have taken less time and some have taken longer it all depends on ur case.
