Nope. The 3:1 ratio only applies to someone sponsoring a spouse or child, so it would apply to the primary sponsor. If the co-sponsor is neither the spouse nor parent (not step-parent) of the sponsored immigrant then the ratio is 5:1.

In addition to a company letter, you may also want to use your payroll stubs... as for your mother, even if not employed, she can declare any assets in a checking or savings account to become a co-sponsor (1/3 of the amount in the account will count towards reaching the 125% threshold)

Actually, the MEP case numbers are being generated automatically by NVC... however, you still have to opt in in order to get the electronic processing going.

Yeah, we also have to go to Juarez for the interview. We hope to get the ball rolling with NVC soon and get everything in before September 15. After that, we'll see what interview date we get - hopefully NVC will get its act together and make it a timely, if not quick, process.

Also, I don't know if anyone else noticed, but I just saw that the processing goal for the California Service Center went down to five months from six months last week... that's got to be a good sign for the rest of us Marchers!

Guys I a so frustrated with this wait here. I mean they have not touched my file at all. God only knows if they are working on it or not. I cannot concentrate on my study and feel that I will get old just waiting for my spouse to come here. I spend a few hours talking to my spouse and the rest of the hours I am day dreaming. If I go out and see a couple walking/passing by, then I see that every body is so happy in their life and I am so sad and depressed with out my spouse. I hope my spouse comes in here before I have to start some anti depressants.

I know that many people here are waiting like me and I can feel the pain.

I hear you! I've been separated from my wife and daughter for close to a year now (only got to see them for Christmas in Mexico) and it is TOUGH!!! I am getting more anxious day by day, waiting for an answer.

Both. The "copy" -meaning an original copy- I'm waiting for is from the Civil Registry in Mexico. After that they also will ask for a photocopy as part of the documentation.

Is anyone is our group all set for NVC? If so...good for you!!! I still have a laundry list of things to do.

I'm only waiting on a new copy of my wife's birth certificate and her passport. I should have that in order when I go see her in July.
