  1. Tom,

I think it is good news that the Embassy tried to call her today. We are still wishing you good luck. Ying and I got married yesterday. We will have the wedding with my family next year and a ceremony in Thailand. I just found out that I have to go to the desert for a year (Kuwait or Iraq) so we are a little bummed but she is taking it good. She will stay with my Mom while I am gone.

  2. Happy to say that we are now together in America today! As we changed planes in Tokyo we ran into another Thai Lady who was traveling on a K1 visa and was lost. She had to change planes in Tokyo, Honolulu, and Minneapolis. She also told my Fiancée that she didn't speak any English. I hope she made it to her final destination ok. We helped her the best we could.

The POE was very painless. The Immigration Officer was more interested in my Army career and telling me his life story than Ying entering the country. Have to say that the experience was very easy and we were not inspected at Customs.

As you can expect we are still on Thailand time and busy shopping for those must need items that married couples need.

  3. I'm STILL waiting for my transcripts of my tax returns. I'm starting to get really frustrated. I sent them almost a month ago. That's the only thing we are waiting on... I'm starting to wonder if I should just send my own copies of my tax returns, even though I know it's preferred to send them in transcripts... *sigh* :(

I guess it depends on the Embassy but we just used copies of the tax returns. Our you sure you need the tax transcripts? You know you bring in the tax transcripts the day of the interview if you want.

  4. Her interview was on June 22nd at 1300. She had to go to the Embassy at 0800 to drop off her paperwork. Since she had an afternoon appointment she was allowed through the door right away and did not have to wait in the long line. The lady took her paperwork and she left the embassy to return later that afternoon.

She returned at 12.30 at was allowed in right away. She waited in the waiting room until her name was called. She was called to window number 5 around 13.55 to be interviewed by the American Lady. She had to swear to tell the truth and rose both hands because she did not know which one to raise. The lady laughed and she was told to raise her right hand and swore she would tell the truth. The lady said Sawasdee Ka and asked if she wanted the interview in Thai or English. She said English and they began asking the following questions.

    1. How do you know your Fiance?

    2. How do you know the person that introduced you to him?

    3. When is his birthday?

    4. Does he have children?

    5. How old is my child?

    6. How does he support his child?

    7. Is his ex girlfriend (child\'s mother) a Thai or American Citizen

    8. Do you know his ex girlfriend?

    9. Has he been married before, and when is the year of divorce?

    10. When did you get engaged?

    11. How old is your fiance

    12. Where was your fiance born

    13. Did he pick out the engagement ring, or did you help him?

    14. She was asked to show her ring?

    15. Where does she work and what do you do now?

    16. How much time did you spend with him during his second meeting with you in Thailand?

    17. When did you start dating?

    18. When did you meet him again for the third time in Manilla?

At the end of the interview she asked to see her ring and asked if your fiance pick it out himself or did you help him? She said that he chose the ring, and she said ok it is is very beautiful. She then said so see you again on June 29. My fiancee\' asked if that means her Visa is approved? She smiled and said yes. My fiancee\' smiled and said thank you very much (gave a wai for those who know Thai). My fiancee\' was then given a 3 X5 card that has the case number and her name with instructions to pick her VISA on 29 June at 1500.

The lady conducting the interview was very polite and seemed happy to talk to her. She did not act to serious. My fiancee\'s advice is to not be afraid and to answer the questions very directly. Although my fiancee was asked 18 questions the interview was still short took about 5 minutes.

  5. Ying's interview was today and we are happy to say that she passed and she will pick up her VISA on 29 June  .

We will post the details later. Just want to say to those who have upcoming interviews to be prepared to go into detail about previous relationships. The farang lady that interviewed her was very polite but asked alot of questions. Just be open about everything and make sure you know each other VERY well. Ying was number 4 of 7 K1 interviews this afternoon. The first lady started interview at 1300 and still was not finished by 1400. The other two people in front of her were given their passports back. She doesn't know if they were approved or not but just saw that they were given their passports back. We will post the questions asked later, but I will say again, make sure your fiance/fiancee knows your past. Especially previous marriages/divorce dates, and if you have children or not. I think that if your story doesn't add up then you will go into AP very quickly.

Lastly, I would like to say thanks for all the support we received here. This website is very informative and helpful.

  7. ??

    You said it:

" I have seen "less qualified" people get approvals. Even with Thai girls that worked in the bar"

    I questioned your statement.

I have personally seen some people I know get their girls approved even when they worked in the bar. I did not see on visajourney where someone actually posted that they got their girl approved even while working in the bar. I miss read your question and took it as a statement. Sorry.

  8. No she wont need a transit visa. They do however make you go through security again. Not sure why.

Thanks for the information. I am very nervous for her, but everyone has went through this and I have seen "less qualified" people get approvals. Even with Thai girls that worked in the bar, not saying anything is wrong with that, just making a point. Really hope our interview isn't has tough as Mrs. Bear's CR1 interview.

  9. 7 days until Ying's interview and if feels like the time is so slow. We are both getting a little nervous. I have a question though. If she transits through Japan on her way here to Hawaii does she need a Transit Visa? She will arrive and depart the same day and will not leave the Airport. I checked the Delta website and it says "Visa required, except those continuing their journey to a third country on the same day". Does anyone else have any experience with this?

  10. http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html

I think was how we did it....I have a bad memory..lol. Yeah I just checked and thats what you do...then you have to play about abit with the other dates to try and find yours....so youll be looking for one going to Peters Embassy....hopeful its in one that will leave today or tomorrow then...woooo hooooo brillant. Fingers crossed it keeps moving quickly and that Ive helped with the tracking thingy :)

Yayyyy. Our packet three arrived today at the UK Embassy, we had ours on tracking as well...next day delivery...yayyy now we sit and wait...again lol.

Doesn't the waiting suck. I have never waited for something for so long. It will be nice to relax, my patience level is running very thin lately.

  11. Just heard back from the embassy in Bkk and they said Laddawan could expect to get her interview in about 6-8 weeks after they had received our packet which was on may 27th. So much for our wedding plans for july 17th, lol. Just letting people know if they have the same timeline as me. Take care everyone

    Matt

They told us the same thing. We sent our packet 3 on May 10 and our interview is scheduled for June 22nd (total of 7 weeks). Bear in mind this includes the days the Embassy was closed during the protests. You may very well be earlier than expected.
