  1. Hi everyone,

I know there has already been a lot written about the I-864 procedure, but I just can't seem to find anything specific to answer my questions regarding the I-864 packet. Are just the IRS tax transcripts enough to send with the packet to the NVC? A little about my case: I am filing an I-864 and having my mother file the I-864A as my joint sponsor. I plan to include the IRS transcripts from the last 3 years (mine and my mother's) that I have already received and am not sure if I should include bank statements as well. I'm currently unemployed and will only include bank statments of my mother's if need be, but if I do, how far back should they date?

If anyone can clear this up for me, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thank you!

  3. Hello, I'm at your same stage and my husband and I debated on whether or not to add the letters. But we thought it was better to add more than not have enough supporting docs. From researching the forums, I felt more people said to add them than not. But if your friends and family are willing to help, then there are good examples here that they can use and if they sit down and write the letter, it should take less than an hour. If any of your friends and family are in London,I know a lawyer there who notarizes very cheaply and you don't need an appointment.

BTW, were you living or visiting the UK? Just curious because if you were a tourist, then it would change the validity of the tenancy agreement. Sorry, you do say Aug-Apr so probably not as a tourist and you probably already know this!!

    Hope this helps!!

  4. Hello, not sure if anyone is checking this post anymore, but I've a question regarding the long vs short birth certificate as well- I've lost my original birth certificate and ordered official copies from the state. But to my dismay, for some reason, these new LONG version copies had my mother's name misspelled. No idea how that happened as the original was correct. Now I'm worried because I've received the new revised copies of my birth certificate and while it has all of the same information as the LONG version, it looks like the SHORT version if you compare it to the Wikipedia images. I've called the USCIS helpline, but they were no help. I have everything ready to send off for my I-130 petition and would hate to waste more time reordering my birth certificate for the 3rd time.

If anyone out there has any input, please help!!!!

    Thanks,

    M

  5. Hmm..I'm not sure on the residence. I always thought you list your last 5 years of where you lived.

You will likely need your long form birth certificate....or use you passport. You can either use your birth certificate or passport to prove your citizenship for the I-129F......and if you use your passport, you will need to make copies of ALL pages of the passport.

Thanks Johnny for replying. Yeah, my time abroad was during the last 5 years. Perhaps my passport is easiest to bypass the birth certificate confusion! Thanks!

  6. Hello, I am just preparing my forms for my I-130 Petition and have a question about the G-325A. I'm a US citizen who studied abroad for several years on a student visa. Do my residences abroad count towards my last 5 years of residences? I have tried to find similar posts, but no luck! Any information would be appreciated!

Another thing-- I recently received my revised birth certificate as one of my parent's name was misspelled. I'm looking at it and it looks more like the SHORT copy vs the LONG copy. Does that matter? I don't want anything to be wrong!

Thanks to any of you out there who can help!
