  1. I haven't visited SD yet, but my sister lived in Mitchell when they first moved there and she still goes there a lot. Small world LOL!

I didn't call DOS. But yesterday we finally got into the system to check for updates. IDK maybe Ramadan slowed things down here or something. The last person I know of who got AP here was a friend of mine I met here on VJ. Theirs only lasted 50 some days. Praying ours goes that quick!

I called DOS today and they said the case is still under AP. My wife was put on AP at her interveiw in Islambabd, Pakistan on July 8th.

  2. Hi

I got an RFE that requests:

    "Birth Certificate:

The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority."

I know that in the event that no birth certificate is available, a public official needs to write a letter stating why a birth certificate is not obtainable. My uncle has been trying to meet this requirement but no one is willing to write a letter. Has anyone come across similar problems in Afghanistan?

I have already sent an affidavit from a close relative, the applicant’s mother, stating the date and place of birth, both parents names, and the mother’s maiden name.

I have also sent a copy of the national ID card (Tazkira), with a copy translated in English (not original, which I will need to do).

    Hi there,

I got RFE back in April for not sending my wife’s "Original" birth certificate (Tazkira) and our marriage certificate. As soon they received the originals my case was completed and was forwarded to Islamabad for interview. She received the originals back at the interview.

  4. my husband had an interview in islamabad, pakistan on august 19th and he's been told that there needs to be a check on his background. they took his passport and told him it can take from 2 months to infinity.

can anyone share there experiences in AP and approximately how long can it take???

    Hi there,

My wife had her interview in Islamabad on July 8th. She was put on AP and they told her same thing from 2 months to unknown. However, according to Pakistani /Afghani VJ members’ timelines, AP would take anywhere form less than 3 months to max 5 months so far. You can either call Islamabad embassy or DOS(202-663-1225)to check the status of AP.

    Take care,

  5. Some IR1/CR1 jokes

    Q) I want to bring my spouse from foreign country to the U.S. Which is the best method?

    A) By air is the fastest and the best. I don't recommend bringing by ship since it takes longer time.

    Q) What's I-130? I have heard about highways I-95, I-84 etc.?

    A) Your GK is great. I-130 is kind of a route like you depicted, but speed limit is 1 to 2 mph!

    Q) Instead of sending petitioner's and beneficiary's individual photos, can we send just one group photo?

    A) Thank God! You didn't mention your grandpa and grandma in this group photo.

    Q) Some people say that photo must be placed in a small bag and label it. Why this small bag is needed?

    A) USCIS is short of bags.

    Q) I don't know my father's DOB to fill in G-325A. How can I get it?

    A) Ask to your paternal grandparents.

    Q) How long should I wait for approval after sending I-130?

    A) You can do your normal job. It will come when it is ready.

    Q) I see that I-130 must be filled in CAPITAL. Does this mean I should go to Washington D.C and fill it?

    A) Please kill me!

    Q) I sent our marriage certificate and still got RFE. What other document should I send to overcome this RFE?

    A) Your bedroom pics and videos during the pleasure is another choice.

    Q) I am the sponsor. Can I include my stepson's (my wife's son before her previous marriage) girl friend and this girl

friend' parents in my I-130 application?

    A) You can include, but USCIS will not give them visa.

    Q) My wife has nobody in her country other than a cat. U.S doesn't allow animals to be imported. Is there any pet visa?

    A) I can't answer to this question. I am a newbie!

    Q) Can my spouse wear the T-shirt that is made of U.S flag during the interview to impress the Consulate officer?

    A) Carry a small Statue of Liberty too in the hand

Enjoy guys! This is just for fun!

    Loto

All of them were good, especially the T-Shirt one. Thanks a million!

  7. Almost 11 months from the day we filed our I-130 and 5 months and four days after my hubby's interview in Islamabad, he was able to pick up his Visa early this morning. EEEEEEE!!!!! I'm so happy, AP was killing us both! To anyone stuck in AP, hang in there for all it's worth, 'cause the one you love is worth everything. :luv:

Congrat! I wish you two happy years to come. My wife was put on AP in Islamabad at her interview on July 8th.

  8. Congrats!!! Wishing both you and your Husband the very best. I'm new to this, my Wife had her interview in Islamabad on May 7th. She recieved a light green paper at the end of the interview stating temporarily refused for adminstrative processing. Also states that it can take 2-3 months but no maximin time. They kept her passport and gave her token...did your Husband get the same when he was intervied in Islamabad...please give me some info since I have been calling DOS and they keep saying under adminstrative processing...I'm a US Citizen. We got married last year, June 10th 2009.

I once again wish you and your Husband the very best and happy b-day to you....

My wife had her interview on July 8th in Islamabad and she was told the same.
