  1. Here is my dilemma. I need to book my flight back to Nashville because I will have my stuff back this week. Problem is my flight leaves Timmins on Wednesday morning at 6am and arrives at 7:40, my connecting flight to Nashville would only leave me 1hr30mins to get through customs and immigration. It's a Wednesday at 8am but I hate to miss my connecting flight. My other option is to fly to Toronto the night before and have nearly 12 hours before my next flight. I'm not sure what to do. I know it's better to be safe than sorry but I have nowhere to go for 12 hours and I'd be stuck at the airport.

  2. You can try calling DOS and asking them if Montreal got the package and opened it or are reviewing it, but thats about it!

Montreal can take a few weeks to months to get to your mail and go through it and review things and issue the visa.

    Thanks!

I called today and they confirmed that the package has been received but that`s all the info they had. She basically said all I can really do is keep calling for updates every now and then. So now I`m just hoping for the best!

  3. atleast a few weeks.. They like to open their mail when they feel like it.

Well that's annoying! Is there any way I can contact them and make sure they even received it? This really makes me nervous.

  4. I had my interview at the Montreal consulate on July 7th and I was denied because I didn't have my husband's 2010 tax return. She said everything looked good and I just needed the tax form. They kept my passport and said I would get it once I mailed the additional paperwork. I have sent it and DHL says it was delivered last friday. Does anyone know about how long I will have to wait before my visa is issued?

    Thanks

  5. My husband and I filed in February while I was here. I had already been here 5 months. We applied, I got my NOA1 and when the 6 month mark came around, I went back to Canada for two weeks to visit family. After that I came back through Buffalo on greyhound. I was almost denied entry. The border patrol officer asked a million questions and when I finally said that we were waiting for my visa application he was going to attempt to look it up... luckily I had my NOA1 hard copy in my bag. He looked at it, folded it up and gave it back with my passport and allowed me to get back on the bus and enter the US. It was very scary though. I really thought I was going to be denied. I've been here for 4 months now and I'll have to go back in 2 months. We just got our NOA2 so there is no way I'll be done before I have to go back. I'm not sure if I'll try to come back again or just wait it out in Canada. Not sure if I can stand to be away from my hubby for that long. It's up to you. You can try it but it's hard to predict what will happen. It's all about the border patrol officer.
