Agree it can get pretty frustrating, but be realistic too. Following Dec, Jan, Feb thread will give you an idea of average processing times at VSC/CSC. Again, its "AVERAGE" processing time. It could take longer/shorter based on the complexity of your case.

I will share what got me through my wait - finding a new hobby. Human mind tends to go into the worry state when its idle too long. I was worried too, but soon realized the only thing gaining from this was my blood pressure.

Find something to kill time (other than checking your mail or status online) and your card will be in your hands before you know it.

Hello all !

So I updated my status at the SSA after getting my 10-year card. I gave them a different answer for my place of birth when asked. Name of the city was changed by the govt..I was a little confused as to what I entered originally, so I went with the old name. (I had originally provided the new name). Now, I am worried if this might cause problems during my n-400 application. Does the immigration cross-check this info with the SSA? Should I get this corrected ? If I do, what should I tell them when I go to update this info?

Son's birth certificate

Parents passport copies - Not required. But if you jointly sponsored your parents visa, you can include the (attested) invitation letter. Include this ONLY if you feel you are short on other good(financial) docs., which I don't believe is your case.

If you made a visit to India together, you can include copies of the pages with immigration/customs stamps from your passport.

The way I understand it, the priority is as follows:

1. Financial co-mingling docs - include tax/loan docs

2. Proof of coinhabitance - lease/home deed/bills

3. Any other docs/bills/letters sent to both with same address.

4. Pictures/affidavits.

Came home to find the approval letter in the mail. Date of decision in the letter - 04/09/10.

Received an email saying my card production has been ordered. Guess this implies approval.

I forgot to update as well. My husband successfully completed his biometrics on March 29, 2010. Please add that to the timeline

I was rather surprised to find the ASC office stuck in a strip mall between a Foodlion and Liquor Store. Hubby said are you sure we're in the right place? lol

Anyway - hoping to hear something soon or maybe get lucky and just get the green card in the mail.

Did you receive any emails/texts ("touches") after the biometrics OR any updates online? I feel my case is still a virgin.

Hey guys I filed my paperwork on the 16th of Feb and they cashed my check on the 24th of Feb and I have still yet to receive anything from the USCIS not a receipt nothing. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, other than calling them tomorrow. Thanks

I would say, wait 30 days after they received your application. If still no NOA, make an info-pass at the nearest ASC and inquire. Good luck!

Some places will allow you to do a walk in bio appointment before the actual date. Several people on here have done it, me included. Pretty much after you receive your bio letter take your letter and ID, and go down to your ASC and maybe if you're lucky you can get it over with before the actual date on your bio letter.

How (or where) does one provide the email address(or phone number for text msgs) to USCIS? My I-751 application went in last month. I don't recollect giving out that info anywhere.

Congrats ! One step closer.

I personally believe, this step should be skipped since its redundant. They have our finger prints from AOS and should make it a norm to reuse it for all the applicants (its not like we got new fingers). Interviews only when the application is not complete or they need more proof.

You wont be able to check the status with the initial receipt number , once you get your biometrics notice , you will be able to use that receipt number to check the status

Is your check cashed yet? If yes, it might just be a mail delay. Else, you should get an info pass and get your passport stamped (i believe its called I-551)

-letter from my insurance company authorizing the birth

-letter from my insurance company adding baby to health plan

-copies of cards, gifts, letters, etc received from family and friends for birth addressed to Mr & Mrs showing our address

-2007, 2008, and 2009 W-2's and joint tax returns

-checking account statements- I sent one from when he arrived and I added him and the most recent

-credit card statements - we don't have joint credit cards yet but I sent his 2 cards coming to our address and highlighted baby purchases and such

-pay stubs for hubby's job from the day he started until now

-letter from hubby's employer stating that he's an upstanding employee, etc

-Car insurance policy documents with both our names

Further Evidence to establish joint domicile (with table of contents) including:

- joint cable bills

- joint electric bills

- joint cell phone bills w/ 2 lines (also highlighted calls to Tunisia )

- letter from our landlord addressed to Mr. & Mrs

I sent pictures of our family (me, hubby, step son, and new baby) pictures of my hubby with my extended family, pictures of parties, family gatherings, and anything I could think of to prove our marriage.

Dave went with me the first time I went to do my biometrics. He was not allowed inside and had to stand outside in the rain waiting for me for about 1 hour. This time I'll be going alone.
