I understand the science that she is not contagious until showing symptoms (there still is a question on when and what level of contagious though). But we already have examples of two health professionals that have been in contact with people after knowing and showing symptoms.

1. The nurse from Fort Worth that flew on a commercial plane.

2. The doctor that went around NYC after showing symptoms.

I don’t think they should be put in a jail (or quarantined in a jail like facility), but they should be limited so they cannot be in contact with an unsuspecting public. Are you willing to risk the public on "their word" that they are starting to feel bad?

Should they be able to be with their family and close friends? Yes, as long as their family and friends know and accept the risks. But in my opinion they should be limited so they do not risk the general public.

I am hoping that your comment about "cheap condems" is just a joke. Because cheap or not, if your friend thought he was protected he may have more issues to think about. And this is not just a Philippino issue,,,, it happens all the time and everywhere, including in USA. Just saying....

My mother-in-law applied and was granted a tourist visa last year to be able to come and visit us (my wife at the time was still a LPR). Just make sure that she states that she is coming to USA for a visit, and that she has valid reasons to return to philippines.

If getting a visa, and for you getting to USA is your first goal, then Hank is right in the K1 visa is the way to go. But you do need to look at all the options and determine you and your Fiances desires (it would also be good for him to be reading these posts). Remember this should be a joint decision and not just his.

But if you want to get married the quickest, and have a wedding with your family and friends, then going for the CR1 may be the better option. But of course this will delay you being able to get a visa and move to USA. There are alot of other issues that the both of you will need to understand as the CR1 may also have you giving birth in the philippines, again pros and cons with this.

We have finally completed the journey. Abby is now a US citizen as of Aug 29!!

My Filipina Fiancee owned land and and a house in the philippines while we were going throught the K1 process. The owning of property never came up, and was not a problem.

I am updating the information below from looking at timelines and some posts. I have also changed some lines to red and put ?? as i can tell they had oath scheduled but just did not get back online to update (enjoying thier completeion of this long journey!) If i have made a mistake please correct but i was trying to get this up to date as we have had some delays and lost paperwork and this information came in handy when talking to our congressmen who finally got us going again. The others that are still not showing completion have all been offline for a long time (Before March) so i suspect that they are also complete. So, with that being said, I believe we are the last ones to complete the Journey

But we should get scheduled for the oath in the next few weeks. I will of course update at that time.

Yea!! Abby just passed her Naturalization Interview.

She was with the couselor 16 minutes and came out with a big smile on her face.

I am assuming we are the last Oct 2013 filer since none of the others on the list has posted in a looooong time.

We are now waiting on the letter to tell us when Abby will take her Oath. Looking forward to finishing the whole process.

Yes, We finally recieved an email that our status has changed and that we have an interview scheduled. We should recieve the letter this week. We had an info pass in March and April and got our congressmen involved also. Not sure if it helped but it appears we are moving again. I will update again as soon as we get the interview letter and date of interview!!

We still have not recieved interview schedule. Here is our timline.

Oct 11, mailed in N-400
Oct 15, USCIS recieved and sent NOA1
Nov 6, Biometric
Dec 18, inline for interview.
Nothing since, so tried calling and then on March 17th had Info pass and they said file was okay and would be put on top of stack(Sure?)
Status online was changed to "inline for interview" but now with date of March 17.(so now it would not be out of date for 90 days from March 17 )

Had second Info pass on April 25, but with no assistance on when we would get scheduled for interview. We did not get a feeling that Info pass did anything to get anything moving.

We have now sent letter to congressman and we did recieve a call from his office today. They indicated that we should get a schedule for interview in a couple of weeks. Will only believe when we see the actual interview letter.

Will continue to pass along any updates.

Good advice from others. To summarize my tactics:

1. Check a couple of travel sites (travelocity, ITA, etc)

2. Check couple of times a day for a week or two. You can usually find specials come up as discussed above.

3. Once you find a good deal, then go to the airline site (United, Delta, Korea Air, etc) and check prices on the same flight. Most times the prices are the same or a few dollars less. I would rather book direct with the airlines i am flying with in case there are delays, schedule changes, etc that do happen. Then you are not having to go through a middle man on making things right.

We are still waiting on our interview date. We made an infopass appointment last week, and had our infopass meeting yesterday. They said they have now moved our file up to the top and we should be recieving our interview schedule in the next couple of weeks. The infopass officer was nice(from the philippines) and hopefully he was telling the truth. He did not indicate why we had been delayed but truely acted surprised when he looked at our dates. I will give update when interview is scheduled. Still anxiously waiting.

I agree with the statement that if you want information that the infopass is the only way to go. We had multiple calls, with no real help,,,

I would like to join the group. My information is below. Does anyone know why the Baltimore office takes so much more time than other field offices? In some parts it looks like 4 months in and out but for Baltimore we're looking at 6.5 months...just curious

Not sure that Baltimore is that far behind. If you look at the 20 applicants for the Dallas Lockbox, only 5 has recieved thier interview letter. So you are in the 3/4 majority as am I,,, still waiting!

How is that a result of the ACA?

You tell me,,,,, what else could it be, inflation is about the same, the coverage is the same. My insurance has rising gradually over the last 30 years at about a 3 to 4% rise. (never even close to the 56% for 2014). What else has dramatically changed but ObamaCare. The insurance company has to price its policy so that it does not go bankrupt, so they have raised thier prices to cover what they think thier cost will be next year for the changes that ObamaCare is causing.

I will state again. i have looked at my policy, my deductable is going up, my total out of pocket will go up, the total amount of coverage that they could be out is the same. I am getting no increased coverage for the increased cost!!

I have employer based insurance. My premiums will go up $1776 (56% more) in 2014, Deductable from $1000 to 1200. Family plan. Total out of pocket up some. but total lifetime coverage the same. So i am seeing no additional coverage but alot more in costs......

Okay, Spooky, i am not a regular to the forums and didn't catch the sarcasm. My mistake. Lets just say i am not at all happy with what is being forced on us (because it had to be voted on before anyone could read it). Now everyone has to deal with it!

I have employer based coverage with my company paying (aprox 75% of premium), $1,000 deductable (1200 next year), family plan. My part of the premium will go up 56% or $1,776 more in 2014 than this year and $400 deductable (if i use). My company has reported that they expect thier part will cost them at least 12 million to 18 million more. Insurance is through BCBS. By the way, as far as i can see from reading the information there is not an increase because of additional coverage or benifits to meet Obamcare Specifications. So this additional amount of money IS NOT getting me any additional benifits!

Sorry but $2,176 is not a small amount of money!!! And i just wonder what it will be next year!

wow, I wish mine was ONLY going up 32%,. I have been informed that my Premiums will go up 56%. (SpookyTurtle if you thank that is a small amount why dont you pay it for me!). and my deductable is also going up!

I would like to find out how many people on VJ will have thier Insurance go down in cost (Affordable!) and how many will have to pay more... Actual information instead of what the press is generalizing in numbers.

I have just been informed that my insurance premiums will go up in 2014 (see below for amount). I have employer supplied medical insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield on a family plan. My deductable will also go up. Luckily my co-pay and most other items will stay the same. I am also lucky as i will have insurance unlike a lot of people I know.

Premium increase: $1,716 per year (this is the increase, not total)
Deductable increase: $1000 to $1200
Total cost increase per year: $2,176

And for those people that say the company is not paying thier share,,, My company will have to pay more than $12 million for thier part of the employees insurance premiums.

I am also currently working with a company in Minnesota, and last week the owner informed the workers that he is cancelling the employer based insurance. (there is to much risk for him) They are all very upset and are trying to get on the system to see what thier options are. There was about 150 people in the company.
